Women coaches/administrators seem to have much more leniency when it comes to won/loss records and performance issues....seems to be a title 9 "privilege" !

I think she is a good coach but I am extremely dissapointed to what she has done with the program. The bottom line is she can't recruit here at LSU. We can't land any top recruits anymore and we essentially rely on a carousel of transfers every year. On top of that every top recruit in the state of Louisiana doesn't even consider LSU anymore. All her teams seem to have players getting kicked off the team and suspensions after suspensions.

As soon as Moncrief leaves, this program is in major trouble, the talent just isn't there at all.

This next recruiting class isn't even top 40 right now, If there isn't any surprises come signing day and we have another average year I would prefer for us to move on. This program deserves and should be much better than what it is right now.

Although I agree with you for the most part in terms of her recruiting, but this incoming class was ranked in the top 20 at the end of the signing period. Did they lose somebody since then? It's not a great class, but it's better than what she's done to this point............

LSU Incoming Recruiting Class for Fall 2017

Farley her senior year looked horrible and was getting outplayed by inferior teams and looked lost in the McDonalds All American game. She has a lot of things she really needs to work on. She seemed to somewhat regress during the back half of her junior year. I heard she didn't even make first team in her area which seems extremely alarming.

ESPN usually continually updates the rankings through these girls senior seasons to get a final picture or a more accurate measuring of talent. Farley completely dropped substantially to a low 3 star. Prospect Nation doesn't update the rankings anytime during the senior season but she would have dropped substantially as well

Not to say Farley can't be good but the staff needs to make sure she develops, if not we are screwed this season. Every team will now play to take Moncrief out the game and if no one can step up then it will be a long year.

We play Texas in a tournament early in the season so we will see what happens

Our highest recruit is Pointer but whats sad is we got her due to her being Fargas niece.

Listen I want Nikki to succeed and win national titles and everything else but recruiting has been a major disappointment.

I guess we need to see how these freshman play before I can make judgement but other than Pointer who really is a solid point guard, we have a few issues with this recruiting class, a lot of the girls seem to have offensive deficiencies. This team just desperately needs pure shooters, its beyond aggravating that no one can shoot a 3

By the way Deemer was let go from the team

For WBB its just reality, you can't compete with top teams without a decent amount of talent. We only have a couple of girls at the moment who are truly SEC caliber players, everyone else would struggle and not even be on another SEC team

Tigerbaiter...........You speaketh the TRUTH.

Farle-Whatever actually dropped like a "ton of bricks", IN HER SENIOR YEAR.

When she was interviewed by McDonald's Staff, McDonald All-American Game, she expressed "...surprise..." that she was selected, and "...everyone at school was excited that I made the team....they were more excited than me..."

This is typical of Fargas-Whatever, she gets malcontents to transfer and cannot seem to compete for the elite, with Baylor, aTm, Tennessee, MSU, USC-e and others WHO ARE WILL ING WORK AND DO THEIR DUE-DILIGENCE.

Nobody at LSU Athletics is holding Fargas-Whatever to any standard. Then the AD and his wife are on an LSU-funded pleasure trip to Italy, with the team? This STINKS to high-heaven. Enough is ENOUGH.

Fargs, furthermore, is probably bring her whole family and in-laws, at LSU and OUR EXPENSE.

Going on 6 years and LSU WBB has gotten mediocre and getting worse. People have to take a stand, the 1M could be spent on a HC with a "work ethic and non-exploitation mindset and ATTITUDE."

I think Fargas-whatever should be fired and let her go somewhere and be HELD TO A STANDARD. Joe Aleva, obviously, is not doing this and did he really accompany the team to Italy? With his wife??????????

The men's bball team makes money, the women's team does not. I don't think we should send the men's tennis team to Italy either.

She was one of the better players we signed but she still has ways to go.

She's healthy now, she will be playing this trip I would imagine, at least that is what Nikki said.

The one thing that always irked me was that she complained about depth every year and not having the players due to injury and suspensions.

We need a surprise come signing day, if not it'll get rough the following year with essentially no talent. The SEC as a whole is recruiting better too

I agree with the recruiting or lack of. Baylor has come in and stolen the best Louisiana had to off over the last few years and it seems our coach was riding her Harley out west or wherever she likes to ride.

What would be interesting to know is the salary difference between other coaches and Fargas salary. What for instance does the coach from S.Carolina and Mulkey's salary at Baylor. I don't think Fargas is as worthy as those 2 but how close are they?

She was getting paid about the same as Nikki but she was just renegotiated a new contract and will be making over a million now, she deserves it though.

Florida State already has Louisiana's best player for this coming class.

I just don't understand how its so difficult to recruit decent talented players, there are programs in far worse conditions that land bigger fish than us. It really telling of what the program has become and the image it has casted to all recruits in this state as well.

I know Van wasn't the man for the job but at least he had talent on the team, sure his philosophy wasn't the best but he recruited well. When Nikki first came in she was extremely successful with all that talent, in her later years we have seen a big drop in talent level, thus the results as well. She hasn't been "bad" but not good either. She has had plenty of enough time to turn things around, if she can't sign a good class this November and has another average season, we really need to just cut ties.

What was once an elite program that was respected nationally is now extremely mediocre and seems content being that way. WBB would generate a lot more revenue and bring a lot more exposure to the school if we were rolling like in the pokey era. The PMAC would be filled, a lot of games were on national television, the publicity that her teams brought to the university was big too.

Out of all the things to btch about, this is another low. It's football season and you're butt hurt about a women's basketball trip?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the women do well and outperform the men last year after key injuries to top players and the starting point guard leaving the team?

Title 9 says if the men can do it, so can the women

Title IX is not a bad thing. Women competing in sports is a good thing. It's really not about the money. Hell, most schools would lose money if there was not women sports. Sports are not profitable for most schools.

As for Fargas, like it has been said, she can coach but she is not a great recruiter. LSU will be mired in mediocrity or worse with her because he can't bring in the talent. She wasn't going to be fired in the same year the football and hoops HC were canned.
I would expect that Alleva makes a move when finances are more in his favor. Hiring WBB coach is even more iffy business than MBB or Football.

The PMAC would be packed or filled significantly if Pokey is here today. Put an Elite team on the court, people will show up, its that simple. It's why Softball and Gymnastics have gained significant crowds and increased season ticket renewals over the years.

Back when we were going to final fours, we saw large crowds all the time.

If Will Wade took us to the final 4 next year, but the girls had to go 0-30 for him to do it, what pèrcentage of tiger fans do you think would go for that? I think it would be about 150%. That's how important girls sports are.
