Why is LSU so fixated with Bama

I understand the 8-0 thing, but why are we so worried about them. All these threads about them, and every thread I read turns into a Bama thread. This is not a new thing for this board, I am talking this has gone on for years.

Presumably LSU's goal is to win the SEC and win the national championship. Bama is generally the roadblock standing in the way of those goals. Yes, LSU has to beat everyone else too, but it is nearly impossible for them to accomplish their goals if they don't beat Alabama.

Well, we haven't beat them in a long time, and they, as well as Clemson, are the best of the best. Beating them means we can win a title.

Because if you've watched LSU football over the last decade, you would realize that the one consistent thing that has ruined numerous Championship and Heisman runs at LSU has been Alabama.

They’re the only team between us and many Sec championships past and future. National championships too. Why would LSU not be obsessed with that?

It has nothing to do with 8-0 and everything to do with the fact that if you are in the SEC West, and want to win a championship, you’ll need to beat Bama at least once to do it. Sorry for your luck that this is true but it is. Get it?

The only reason I've brought up Bama before the week of the game this year is because of the Tua injury. That's a huge talking point. Otherwise that school never crosses my mind. I don't get the obsession.

One of the best programs of all time, one of our biggest rivals, their head coach built the foundation of our program, we haven't beaten them in 8 years and fired the winningest head coach in program history because he couldn't beat them anymore... oh and the only way to win an SEC Championship and sequentially a National Championship is to beat them first
