if you don't believe me try umpiring baseball, or even softball games. you'll need certification but you will get paid for it and see games for free. if you are a masochist I would suggest umpiring womens softball or boys little league first. if parents or the "girls" don't kill you you can move up. if you really get good, you can move up and make really good money, which will help compensate for the death threats you will receive.

I called football and basketball at the high school level for years. I understand fully the emotion that sports evokes on both participants and spectators. However, this fanbase has gone full blown bonkers with blaming EVERYTHING other than the play on the field for LSU woes.

I don't find this in real life. But, this board has a lot of cry babies.

Simple explanation, really:

we won 2 titles and were in the mix for more, for a magnificent stretch from 2001 to 2007 (with another surge in 2011). For a short period, we were on top of the world, the SEC and college football. This was unlike anything the fanbase had ever experienced, and it felt good.
It slipped away.

It's like dating a supermodel with a heart of gold, having a few glorious years together, and then she moves on. You don't want it to end, you're desperate for it to continue. You panic as you feel it ending. Instead of gracefully accept what's happening, you yell and scream.

It's why we pushed until we fired Miles midseason. It's why we clamor for the head of the coach, AD, chancellor and president on a platter after losing to Troy and Miss St. It's why we scream "bullshite" after every flag is thrown. It's called passion.

It is what it is. It's better than casually accepting losses as a given.

You rolling or what? Show we where ALL SEC fans accuse LSU of this. Hell I'm sure every fan base feels hosed.

There have been some epic calls or no-calls against LSU in some very tight games against Bama in the past few years that made the difference between winning and losing - three come to mind:
1) Patrick Peterson interception ruled out of bounds and not overturned
2) personal foul call in last 2 minutes of the game in 2012 that stalled an LSU drive and allowed Bama one more possession to score
3) no call on holding last year in a scoreless game that allowed Hurts to scramble for a TD.

Each of those games had at a minimum a SEC West title at stake if not a NC berth potential. Call it nothing, call it whining, call it an LSU thingy......I cannot recall one game where LSU got those types of calls going their way. Lest we also forget the 2016 Auburn game when the TD was reversed at the end of the game. Miles got fired due to that loss.

Anybody that refuses to believe these refs don't know how and where their paychecks come from (Alabama) is either a Bsma fan or a fool. LSU is the only threat to Bama or Auburn almost every year. Not much different than watching a MSM coverup......just shut up and accept it - that's what they've programmed everyone to do.

Tell me one game where Bama lost a close game to LSU due to a blatantly bad call by a referee in the past 20 years - I cannot think of one.

Just visit other team boards and you'll find much of the same stuff going on. LSU fans are no different than other fan bases.

Strange. I don't remember anyone blaming the refs when we lost to Troy. Maybe you're just seeing what you want to see so you can feel superior.

Chark's punt return had a clear block in the back, uncalled.

It was close, but it was not a block in the back. Even the announcers said it was a good no-call. There have been a few calls that went LSU's way, but it does seem to skew towards LSU's disadvantage. Particularly against certain teams in crucial moments. Just because it makes you feel better to not complain about the refs, does not mean that LSU has not had controversial calls that affected the outcome of the game.

The smugness of the people that refuse to see the obviously biased calls makes them worse than those that blame every loss on the officials.

I'm guilty, I don't always watch where the ball is at the time. I see a lot of penalties in LSU and Saints games that are missed. Pisses me off every time.

No, unlike so many of you, I understand that LSU football success or failure is not important enough in the grand scheme of things to coordinate a huge conspiracy to bring its downfall. It is pathetic to think otherwise.

I just heard from the LSU fan base, and they said you made an excellent and persuasive point, and they will now quit.
