And we have the best O-line in football. We played Florida, which is very comparable to Alabama's defense. To say differently is an insult to Florida's defense. If we eliminate the mistakes from that game to a minimal, we win, and I really don't think it's a 1-score win. I could see it being close though.

LSU fans are whiners. Bama is a very good team, with great coaches, fantastic players and ridiculous depth. The game is at their house. They have owned us lately.
Oh my gosh the horror that anyone would predict that Bama wins!

Just remember, the evil empire has the #1 recruiting class for about 6 years in a row. I'd say that's an opponent that deserves some attention. I don't think anybody on the team is looking past them to the Ole Miss game.
Should have no baring on rankings!

Means literally nothing. Over half the starters in the game didn't start last year.

They're is a dropoff from #1 to #4 defensive tackle. Yea, if one player is an A and the other is a B, that's still better than 90% of teams, but when you have an A offensive lineman coming at you every play then that B guy will matter.

Alabama's front 7 is on a different level.
If there is a bigger, more physical front in the nation, I haven't seen them.

You say that, but better teams have found reasonable success against them in the running game. They aren't shutting down everyone they have played.
Regardless, I believe that LSU has enough of a passing game to exploit their secondary. It's really going to be an interesting matchup.

I'm not.
We should have beat them last year with one of Miles' worst teams. What is funny is that two of LM's worst teams, 2008 and 2014, took Bama to OT.
If our 2014 team was almost able to overcome the WWE shite, then I think our 2015 can. Bama's 2014 team was better than their 2015 team. Our 2015 is better than 2014. I think this year's LSU team CAN overcome 8-10 calls that won't go their way and still win. It will be close, but they can win.
Just be prepared for a 2-loss Bama team to still be in the Top 10.

And it's nothing to do with this. 80% of the fan base now acts scared of Bama. It's not a "Bama might win", it's the pure doomsday attitude most the fans act like towards Bama. Bama fans are pieces of shite and delusional about life, but I can promise you that most of them aren't predicting LSU to win. BECAUSE THEY'RE FANS!!! Everyone on here wants to act like they're not homers...who gives a shite!! It's Bama hate week. If you can't rip on Bama, hate them, maul them, talk shite about them, then you never can. Our fans used to be mental, psychopaths and ruthless...now most of them are soft and I'm tired of it. Pick LSU to win, dog curse Bama, get full of hatred towards them. That's the LSU I grew up and loved

Because the media loves Alabama, they are one of the schools that get the benefit of the doubt, remember no one beats them they beat themselves
Posted on 11/4/15 at 12:07 pm to lilmoonlsu
They're loaded with talent and have one of the best ever on the sidelines, that being said,Buck Fama

I love it. Because why? They're arse whipping inferior opponents? People can't grasp the way college football has changed. People run spread offenses now. It's gimmick formations trying to throw the ball around and be cute. The closest game they've played is UGA, and let's just say UGA isn't on our level.
Bama's front 7 is no question better than Florida, but it's not astronomical. Even with that, Florida's secondary humiliates Bama's
Posted on 11/4/15 at 12:11 pm to FightinTiga
great talent and great depth with solid coaching. No one comes close in talent when you look at the overall talent level of players from starters to deep into the depth chart. It's what happens when you get the #1 recruiting class dam near every year.

I don't think we'll get a ton of points unless it's a comedy of errors like ole miss, but I don't think Tennessee is better in any major aspect of the game. They probably have more yards throwing the ball, but I think we'd have much better stats in that department if we chose to throw it more. It's just dumb not to run it more often than not in my opinion. Maybe this game will be different, we'll see.

From what I saw,
They almost lost to Tennessee.
Their QB play is questionable
Derek Henry is a one cut a go RB. Not a shfity back.If we play gap responsibilities and stop him before he can pick up steam he will be contained.
DL and LBs are good but the secondary can be exploited. Also our OL matches up well.
All true, but when the "experts" make their picks, they also take into account Bama's reputation. Also they see the history of LSU folding like a cheap suit in crunch time like 2012 and 2014 as well as in years past like in 1998.
If LSU wants the benefit of the doubt, if the fan base is that insecure that they want affirmation from media worms like Finebaum, Dennis Dodd and the clowns from ESPN, then LSU needs to throttle the Tide. Don't leave anything to question, dont let Alabama and their apologists claim that they lost the game by beating themselves. Send a statement that LSU BEATBEAT Alabama

Bama is actually 8-0
Quality wins:
- #19 Texas A&M
- @#4 Alabama
Quality losses: N/A (bama only beats themselves, thus still get the W)
All we can hope for is that bama beats themselves Saturday, giving us a chance to play them again in the playoff. Obviously the committee will think they are top 4 no matter their resume or the superior records of teams behind them. All these benefits of the doubt they recieve will feed the self fulfilling prophecy and bama will continue to "deserve" to be at the top based on previous success. (Previous success given to them based on previous success given to them.) It's a never ending cycle...

They blew out an extremely average Georgia team. They squeaked by Tennessee, and lost to Ole Miss.
what exactly have we done? We beat UF without their starting qb...every other game we have had an excuse...penalties, special teams, weather kept teams in the game longer than they should have been.
This is the best team we will play in the regular season. Acknowledging that does not make a fan soft.

LSUButt i think you are the one who is off. This thread is about why people are impressed with Bama and why many/most of the prognosticators are predicting they will win. There are many valid points to such a prediction.
Me personally, I think we win. If I am being honest, I think we have 60% chance of winning. If we lose I will be bummed but not surprised. And I don't take offense if a talking head sees it the other way.
When LSU fans try to say that Bama is not that good, it looks pretty ignorant. Bama is really good. So is LSU.
Ultimately, the only thing that matters is the score. If we win, we will probably be ranked #1 and Bama is eliminated. If we lose, Bama will be in the drivers seat for a playoff birth and we will need some help even if we win all of our other games. There is also the recruiting impact. Those are the stakes. This is a very important game. I think we are going to pull it off and be on our way to a special season.

What you are supposed to do to be in top 4 at this point in the season. . Not lose a football game
I'm not arguing they won't beat us, just that their current ranking with a loss is a joke, and we can ask "what have they done" bc they haven't done what they are supposed to
We get the benefit of the doubt until we lose. They lost (1-1 vs top 25) and still get the benefit of the doubt

Ditto, and honestly I think if Tennessee hadn't turned the ball over at the very end, they could have pulled off the upset. Tigers taking the Gumpers down Saturday!
