Because he’s not an offensive coordinator. Some people just aren’t fit to be at certain coaching positions

Because Ed Orgeron is HC.

If an offensive guru was HC, Ensminger would be a great OC.

Ed would end up running Steve’s offense BC Steve is a yes man. O is just as hard-headed as Les about doing things his way, without having the coaching credentials Les had.

He’s 60
He hasn’t coordinated an offense in 20 years
Nobody else wants him

He said he doesn't even want the job!!

Enough said

It's a slightly better Les Miles Offense.

Still outdated - we had good #'s with him last year, but shite, you got LF and Guice with a top 5 defense... hard to be bad!

He’s not THAT bad.

But it’d be a lazy hire that would do nothing to narrow the gap between our current situation and the playoffs.

You're asking the wrong question. The question LSU should be asking is, "Is Ensminger a championship caliber offensive coordinator?" I'll let you answer that one.

How about a list of why he should be? Besides not calling the same 10-15 plays that miles/cam called every game.

I actually feel like he did well last year minus the Bama game.

He was the Miles offense minus the shite that drove people nuts.

I think O is a clown and should never have gotten the job. But I actually don't think Ensminger is a bad OC.

A. He doesn’t want the job.
B. He has failed miserably in the past in that job.
No C.

It's a lazy hire. It's a yes man spot for O. Why should LSU have to settle for promoting a TEs coach who nobody else wants for their OC? There seems to be a theme for LSU coaching hires.

Dinardo and Tepper = Gone
Les and Cameron = Gone
O and Ensminger = will be gone

Moral of the story. Don't hire your buddy

Straw man, but I will indulge. Yes, he was championship caliber in the sense that he brought his own system that had seen a high level of success at multiple stops.
