You are wrong it still means something otherwise they wouldn’t be talking about it. LSU is the 2nd most successful program this century.

Because BK left ND which created this strange “spurned lover” like narrative so for whatever reason it makes people feel good seeing BK struggle game 1 since he left ND for another big school.

LSU is getting dragged.. We won it all in 2019 and it seems the media doesn't remember lol

Which makes a good point for the media to say it was a miracle since we aren't playing to the standards we usually are.

We are not getting good media and we are barely relevant at the moment.

The only thing to turn it around is come together as a team and win!! Prove them wrong and laugh back at them.

Because you got a big time new hire and it is almost expected that he step in and you guys be top 10 again. Not everybody thinks that, but that's what makes news. If you won then "LSU IS BACK". If you lost "Has Brian Kelley bitten off more than he can chew?".

Our coach is an a-hole and a lightning rod for criticism. Also, we matter, so combine those things and people just love to see bad things happen to us.

Nope. This is getting major run and way more talk than Pitt vs WVU or Clemson vs GT. LSU has storyline. This is less about FSU and more about LSU and Kelly. I realize the media only gets huge about LSU when we do something where they can say, "Oh those swamp people and their silly coach".

Where was all that talk when we destroyed UGA in 2018? How much national media did we get beating the 2 year undefeated UCF team and winning 10 games for the first time since 2013?

Look how much love TAMU has gotten by the national media, same with Arkansas who got praise from the heavens from beating a bad Texas team.

Florida beats an overrated Utah team at home and people are anointing Napier as a turnaround King and Anthony Richardson as a God (i do think he's a future heisman level QB though, but i thought that last year too). What did he do statistically that was that much better than Daniels? Florida was a whisper away from beating Bama last year and that was a 6 win UF team. They take them from unranked to 12th? Really? They are starting to do the same thing as last year changing the rankings drastically early on based on their preseason biased rankings.

that definitely wouldn't have happened. Somehow beating LSU has become a signature win (remember last year with UCLA), that makes people think we are elite. At the same time if LSU had beaten UCLA and FSU, it wouldn't have moved the meter because "they were supposed to do that".

I think it was an EA Sports college football product that you played on your television sometime around 1996 or so ? I think the game only offered like 32 teams you could choose. Guess what ? LSU was one of those teams.

The LSU brand means something. 5 national titles in football. 6 national titles in baseball. Add Kim Mulkey and of course everyone know who LSU is. Nobody is talking about Georgia Tech or UTEP this week.

I like the media talking about LSU. Cha-Ching goes the cash register. If we weren’t a playa in College athletics, no one in the media would give a shite.

And yet, they're not smearing Aggie, Ole Miss, ND, USC and so on?

Many of those are "never have been" or won over 20 years ago.

It was the only game on. Same thing happened with Nebraska/Northwestern.

We're LSU, the standard, and they want CBK to fail.

I think it’s a bit more nuanced. They are afraid of LSU becoming yet another SEC powerhouse and overshadowing all of the media darlings. Not only ND, but Ohio State, USC, et. al.

Other than ESPN, the networks would be wise to promote that narrative.

FSU thought it was a big deal. LSU was expected to do LSU things. Almost did.
