Why them too? It was solely the athletic department that told the director it needed to stop being played. The athletic department funds a LOT of stuff that the Tiger Band is reliant on, including student stipends. Why would they go against their word? The band played the song even while the lyrics were ringing throughout the whole stadium. They don't care what the student section does, but once the big daddy says stop, they have to oblige.

I'm hoping that once the current class of students are long gone and grown up, maybe 10-15 years from now, they will reconsider playing Tiger Rag, Neck, etc. once again. The lsu students 10 years from now are around 8 or 9 years old now, so they likely won't have any knowledge of what the students are doing with the songs right now. I hope anyways.

Maybe they should sell those 15,000 NW corner seats to the public (except for TGBFTL) and allow a 3,000 seat student section in the West Upper.

Any of you ranters who think this classless BS should continue are classless, immature, and care not about the tradition and reputation of Tiger football. I say this confessing that had it started when I was a student in the early 70s I,in a drunken stupor, would probably have been screaming it louder than anyone.But I was immature and could not have cared less about LSU's reputation.I think I finally matured and obtained a little class,but not until several weeks ago
