You need to get out more. When I travel I like to see other campuses. The gorgeous oak tress all over LSU are like no other place. It's top 5 in the country IMO. Cal Berkley is a dump, the U, Miami, I thought would be nice but was c- maybe D. White boxes, disappointing landscaping for Florida. Virginia Tech all a white granite, nice but zero trees, etc. Hard to beat LSU.
Go look at Florida St. Other than a couple of areas, it’s a dump compared to LSU. I went there for grad school and was shocked at just how ugly most of the campus is.

Shadow staff troll contractors and bots have to throw out misinformation and contort facts. Can't beat them on the football field, got to hit them in a framed narrative for big brother's greater agenda. Rinse and repeat.

I really think this is a troll. But to cover all bases in case it isn't, the campus looks better today than it ever has.

I’m not trolling. I just couldn’t help but notice how run down our academic buildings are in comparison to Alabama’s. And for that matter Texas A&M.

It's because certain folks don't like paying taxes at an appropriate rate for their income. The same people also think education is a waste to spend money on

Louisiana government is more interested in growing government and everything that comes with it. Power, government employed voters, benefits and early retirements for everyone in government. They don’t give two cents to actual services. The states economy mostly revolves around the Mississippi River yet bad infrastructure and a fourth of the ferries of 50 years ago. Bad streets, aging infrastructure all around but we must expand and pay government employees. It’s that simple

What percentage of LSU’s $850 million endowment are they allowed to use on repairs and campus improvements?

Interesting link. So Alabama has CUT its funding 1/3 from 16 years ago. So how come every time I discuss higher education with acquaintances half of them have kids at Alabama on a “full ride” ? Are they lying ? Is it harder to get into LSU than Alabama ? I know LSU is second in the SEC in graduate earnings and Alabama is last in earnings but what’s going on ? Is higher education just a big scam nowadays ?

First off don't believe you. If you are not trolling then you have eye sight issues or mentally incompetent. I pity you either way. And since I think you may be a part of a greater trolling effort then good job. You accomplished your goals:).

Bama has a very large out of state student population.
This to a very large extent.
Alabama courts out of state students and has been extremely successful

LSU should go back to that plan as we have a newer governor who understands growth is a good thing for LSU, Baton Rouge and Louisiana.
You should stop smoking crack

Alabama is on the federal dole just like Texas

Some of the buildings are old and could use some help. But those buildings are lower on the priority list. The College of Business and College of Engineering both recently got all new buildings. The engineering building is top notch too.
If you are really interested go find the LSU master plan for campus.

At least we have a fancy new airport to impress the Jones’s.

The board at LSU wanted to buy all the land north of the college to I-10, the governor stopped that plan and now LSU have to build parking lots in between buildings and everywhere they can find a spot. Bobby stopped all those great plans.
All the way to downtown? That would include McKinley High School. When was this?

LSU is and has been underfunded for years. And our fundraising lags behind other universities of our type. In many ways, we are overachieving academically when you factor in our poor support from the state and alumni.

Just got back from Tuscaloosa. You can tell they have put a significant amount of money into not only their athletic facilities, but also school buildings. It makes LSU’s campus look like crap. Are we really just that underfunded?
Alabama started a huge new program in 2003. Took on a bunch of debt along with a simple scholarship program based on NationL Merit status. Also included in the program is a facilities improvement program.
Many of the state schools criticized the amount of dollars flowing in to UofA but it had a good plan with plenty of legislation support. The plan projected the debt would be funded with future alumni support and new grants, both of which have increased significantly.
