Where would he go that would pay him more than we are now either as HC or OC?

What HC/OC jobs are open that he would be a top or even second tier choice?

His buyout runs through 2019.

He has never been anything but an OC.

He tends to clash with HCs.

Who would O replace him with that's gonna do a better job for sure. Remember O promised us the best coordinators and it's gonna be hard to find an available OC guaranteed to do better than Canada.

I get that O and him clash/ed, but LSU won't fire him. I heard the press conference last night, but i think people are reading too much in to it.

Why do people keep thinking he will be gone? I am just surpised to see so many posts/threads discussing who will replace him. What am I missing here?

You would think 1.5 million dollars a year would be enough to alleviate any issues wiith LSU, Ed, BR, etc., but O's tone in the post game press conference screamed "he's gone"

I do too, but i don't see him lasting past 2 seasons, assuming next season the offense/qb play continues to improve.

I fully believe he will be the OC at LSU for the 2018 season. Makes no sense on any level for him to leave at this point. He is not going to be offered a high level HC job, right now at the end of this season, that is going to pay him more than he makes right now at LSU. He is not going to leave LSU to go be the HC at some podunk university. A Mississippi State level school is not calling him. Also Orgeron would be out his mind to fire him.

Now with a very successful and productive 2018 season, on the offense side of the ball, it could be a different story after the 2018 season.

It seems to make the most sense for him to stay through the 2018 and 2019 seasons then some legitimate offers come in to him and him moving on.

I don't know why people are trying to read so much into what coach O said or what their motives are. Probably trying to put some sense of instability with the program into the heads of potential recruits or maybe some anti O, told you so, agenda, or maybe they just thrive on being trolls.

FWIW I am excited to see what he can with our future QBs in the offseason. Obviously Brennan has the most XP, right now, but i could see both being very successful in this offensive scheme in different ways. The offensive future of LSU appears to be in good hands with Canada. Hopefully he and O can put away their differences for both their benefits.

I believe if Canada stays 2 more years LSU will be in the playoffs. His system will be entrenched and Canada would've been able to teach Brennan & Narcisse for 2 or 3 years.

Because of O's comments

It's pretty simple

No way O says what he said without knowing that Canada is actively putting his name out there

IF Canada is that thin skinned that he got his feelings hurt by Coach O taking over one half of a game, forgetting that Coach O is his boss, factor in his previous exits from his last 2-3-4 jobs, and it's obviously on him. The SEC is a coach killer by itself. Being thin skinned will get you run out of every program in the conference.

Because O threw fire on the situation when asked vs taking the high road. And Canada or LSU hasnt come out and said differently. O cant be that stupid to answer that question like that unless he knows something.
It has been rumored for sometime and O had to have prepped on being asked this by a reporter. It was reported they almost went to blows one day. Thats makes for an untenable situation, if its true.
Im thinking Canada's gone and its a mutual decision.
Time will tell.
LSU and O will have many people shooting across their resume to get this gig and payday. Small bump in the road for the program, imo.

If he goes, O will find someone as good.

My gut tells me he likely stays but I don't see why everyone is so up in arms about people discussing the possibility of him leaving in light of his history and of O's comments

O is the one with the thin skin
. Canada proved O knows nothing about offensive schemes and once O was exposed his ego got stepped on.

O is the Head Ball Coach, it doesnt matter what his skin or ego is especially around the help.

Canada walked into a gold mine after the Les/Cam years and had no where to go but up. Even if he was just average, he was going get alot of credit for turning the offense around. If he stays just 2-3 years while being paid HC money, he most likely writes his own ticket to a HC position.

Now his future is feast or famine. Good luck and good riddance if he leaves.

Because, as he should, he is interviewing and entertaining offers. Coach 'O' knows this, that Canada would have to leave if offered the right opportunity and that we need to be prepared.

I think he goes. He and O don't get along, and frankly Ensminger's offense was more productive than his. I don't like Canada, and would like to see him hit the road.

Because the overwhelming majority of posters here just repeat the first talking point they see or hear, regardless of verifiable sources
