First game every year. Those that have to even ask the question the OP asked are probably in their 20s.

It’s coming and most have no clue. I can somewhat put up with the gay towels and rings and 12th man shite, but this is coming…

Both A&M and Bama hate are about their arrogance that is blind to all others. One backed up by performance in one sport the other not backed up by anything but money.

it’s a lot easier to tolerate delusion and arrogance from someone that has trophies newer than newspaper articles announcing Pearl Harbor was attacked.

The football series we had with them from 1986-95 was pretty nasty. I’ve hated them since.
Plus, as mentioned, they are just too weird… and they don’t even know it.

I suspect the rivalry partially goes back to the era where ROTC was mandatory at LSU as well as at Tex. A & M. Both schools had very large cadet corps that provided our U. S. Armed Services with a great number of officers. I don't know the real statistics compared to the actual military academies like West Point, Annapolis, and Air Force Academy, but our ROTC programs were respected and valued in those times.
The competitive ROTC rivalries between LSU and Tex. A & M peaked annually at the Summer Camps (quasi boot camps) where candidates for commissions as officers participated in various military skills such as marksmanship, leadership, team building, war games, etc.
For many boomers, such as myself, the annual football game between our schools provided an extension of that military rivalry. Considering that the hatred/rivalry continues today, it at least probably in part stems from alums such as myself passing it on through generations of our own families and friends.

I’ve never had an issue with them until they started acting like they could just buy championships.

Yeah, I was a wide eyed freshman in 1986 and when we beat them they were literally crying and saying we ruined their national championship!
Now that I think about it they were hanging on me and now it seems weird
Hated them ever since
ETA: yes, I was on the 5 year plan lol

The hatred goes back a long way.
Have someone relate the Bear Bryant and John David Crow stories to you.

Excerpt from thread by poster Snake:
"The story about John David Crow was that he came to LSU to start school , spoke to the BEAR and drove away from the LSU Campus for the last time in a brand new Oldsmobile headed west !! So the story goes ? "

Prob the ones who live in Texas.
I’m from and live in Tennessee. I know zero A&M fans IRL. They’ve been nothing more than another divisional opponent to me.

The fact that they cosplay as military yet none of them actually will commit to service.
Where did you get your information for that statement?
The Texas A&M Corps of Cadets will commission 165 cadets into the U.S. armed forces this week — an indication of the confidence the Department of Defense has in the Corps to produce some of the nation’s finest military officers. These newly commissioned officers will enter the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Space Force as second lieutenants and ensigns.
Texas A&M has routinely commissioned more officers into the military than any other university in the nation, except for the military academies.

Could you imagine having Jim Taylor, John David Crow, Billy Cannon, Red Brodnax, and Johnny Robinson in the same backfield?
