Why didn’t Little play today?

I bet he is going to move into Sundays spot next weekend. Jay already mentioned he needed to tweak how people were being used and I bet Little gets the first crack at the Sunday starter with Hurd moving to the midweek role for a few weeks.

There's probably 3 or 4 pitchers who deserve a shot at that Sunday role before you even think about putting Little there, IMO.

1. Shores has 1 pitch right now. Until he develops another pitch hes best suited in the bullpen in the role he is in.
2. Herring prolly deserves a shot but he is too valuable as a lefty out of the bullpen.
3. Edwards - Jay has already mentioned he wants one of his best pitchers to be the closer/stopper out of the bullpen so Edwards isn't moving out of his role.
Little has elite stuff and when hes come in during clean outings has been very effective. Also has the ability to stretch out innings and has been a starter. Moving him into that Sunday role could actually make him very effective and give this team 5-6 innings which we have not had on Sundays this year.
Again I trust whoever Jay puts into that role and with his comments about the bullpen and needing arms he can trust it seems Little is the fist to get the crack at Sunday.

Gets behind too much. Becomes very hittable and has struggled with walks lately
