3. Did you see what TAF wanted for their travel package? Absurd.
They are always priced liked that and are designed for people who want the convenience of not having to plan a thing.

LSU fans will travel to Dallas and New Orleans, unless they get to the National Championship. The Outback Bowl is a great game. Tampa is an excellent city. Back in the day a New Years game in Florida was a big deal. Not so anymore. Don't bitch if Tampa snubs LSU for another 15 years

I think it's more to do with the season opener that's like a bowl game...there is a level of fatigue in the fan base that needs to be taken into consideration...
and the clusterfrick that LSU gameday has become with parking adds to the fatigue factor...
Add to that the audacity to raise ticket prices and tradition fund. Not about the common fans anymore.

They've traveled well to Seattle, Morgantown, etc
Just a spoiled fan base now.

Our fans have become spoiled. Part of my reason for not going has been the fact that this bowl has snubbed LSU on several occasions; they want an SEC East team. The SEC West needs to hook up with the Cotton Bowl which is becoming a major player again.

The television experience has become better than the in-person experience for these meaningless games.

After poor fan showings last year in Atlanta and today in Tampa, I actually expect LSU to get passed over by the better bowls next year, if we don't make the playoff. Mike Slive is no friend of LSU and Gump Central, aka the SEC Home Office, will screw us over if they can. I understand people's reasons for not going, but those who could've gone but stayed home to make a statement, might have ended up hurting LSU and not the Outback Bowl.

A lot of people in This thread that obviously weren't at the game...we were easily outnumbered by Iowa 65-35 and it indeed was probably our worst bowl turnout since 2000, but LSU had at least 10k in the stands. It wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting.
Bottom line, and there's no fixing it, we're spoiled and nothing "does it" for us anymore as a fanbase but BCS or BCSCG or Cotton. It is what it is.
I wasn't embarassed like I thought I would be...we had a good turnout considering I was expecting 6-8k.

We were one game above 500 in the sec. People forget that little fact.

ONe of the best win percentages since he's been here is poor quality coaching? Can I have some of your drugs?

Well it's easy to forget considering that your statement is not accurate.
We had a decent/good season. Shoulda gone 10-2 regular season IMO, but considering 10-2 woulda landed us in the exact same spot most likely, does it really matter?

They'll say it does, but they'd be bitching just as loudly had we beaten Ole Miss and still ended up in Tampa with half our allotment sold.

Only one reason for me...it was the Outback Bowl.
It's the first LSU bowl game I've missed in over a decade. They passed on previous opportunities to select us...so I passed on the opportunity to give them my money.
You obviously have no clue how the selection agreements work between bowl directors. There is an agreement between the outback and cotton that the cotton typically takes an sec west team and the outback takes an sec east team. One of the outback directors said in an interview that there have been a few times they wanted LSU but had to pass because of that reason.
