I can't believe we still have this debate but that was probably the safest "Mad Hatter" moment in Les's history. Had plenty of time to throw a ball into the corner of the end zone where only your guy can get it or there would be a PI call and get a closer field goal. The only fault on the play was Flynn took too long to snap. Like mentioned so many times even if he drops it there is time on the clock.

Flynn took forever to take the snap. Also, replay showed 4 seconds left when the ball was caught.

I don't understand why people like you have to constantly bring up Saban/Bama in every discussion.

Seriously, living with constant crippling insecurity must be tough.

The bette question is why they didn't go two after.

The only way Auburn could kick a FG was if LSU kicked the kickoff completely sideways.

Early Doucet didn't have control of the ball on his game winning catch against Arizona St in 05...

If the pass is incomplete the clock expires and LSU loses the game. wrong

it is wrong. however, I know that miles didn't plan the play to have 1 fricking second left on the clock when the ball hit the ground. that would have just been pure luck.

op........it was a dumb fricking call. it was ballsy. but........those were the good ole days when miles didn't care of the outcome and he was the luckiest mf in the world.

This is a really stupid move even if it worked. If the pass is incomplete the clock expires and LSU loses the game. I assume that your odds of completing a 27 yard pass when the opponent knows that's what you're trying to do are about 5-10%. If your FG kicker can't hit a 44 yarder 5-10% of the time then what is he doing in D-I? If this pass had fallen incomplete there would have been no NC, Miles reputation would be far from as good as it is and Miles probably would have been fired following the 2015 season.

And if OSU had made their fricking fg Les would have 2 national titles and be the goat along with saban.

I had absolutely no problem with the play call. Now letting the clock run down as much as we did was very risky. But the call itself was great IMHO.

Why in the world did Hitler invade Russia?
Oh wait even that's more relevant for discussion because Hitlers move didn't work.

I was a sophomore painted up in the front of the student section for that game(not to mention awesome season) and I remember the play taking longer than usual for the snap. D Byrd was just clutch and caught it right there in the student corner of the EZ. But there would have been over a second left if he had dropped it or it went out of bounds.

That season probably took five years off of my life, but damn, was it worth it. Since the nostalgia just hit, I still have the video of the Teabag Tebow chant during the Florida game after he taunted the student section after a TD. I have since had to make the video private on Youtube for fear of it being reported and taken down in this PC world today. But...so awesome.
