Today's NIL is custom made for the Pear. Not so much for MM.

The next time Wade will come back is when you will find him on the other side of the court beating the daylights out of our BB team and enjoying every minute of it.

Why would the administration want him to come back after what he did to the program?

Will Wade ended up at McNeese, went 22-2 and is still there. If he was "touchable", big time programs would have hired him.

LSU gets flak for releasing him, yet nobody else is picking him up.

Lot's of down votes but not responses. Wade got a show-cause from the NCAA which doesn't expire until June 21, 2025.

Then we will see who is actually interested in him.

So a 1 scholarship penalty for 2 years is a death sentence? We redshirted a guy during that time.

He'll get picked up next year most likely by a higher profile school, not a blue blood, but a conference that isn't 1 bid.

Like you said, he has a 2-year show cause and also was loyal to McNeese for giving him an opportunity. He and the McNeese AD have both stated that Wade isn't in a hurry to move on and will be choosy when picking a new destination. He could possibly stay a 3rd season at McNeese before moving on. We'll see how it plays out.

LSU also didn't even have an empty spot on their roster despite the sanction. Hunter Dean was a "walk-on" last year, and LSU has (or had before Ward quit) 13 scholarship level players again this year. In other words, the sanctions had ZERO practical effect on the team.

People like to repeat the groupthink mantra of "after what he did to the program". But did he really do anything to the program?

LSU chose to fire Wade. Wade didn't quit. That directly led to the majority of what would have been the 22-23 roster leaving and the highly ranked recruiting class going elsewhere. The sanctions the program received were minimal in nature and, ultimately, of zero effect practically. I'm not going to argue LSU should or should not have fired Wade. I wasn't in the building privy to all of the facts. But I am confident in saying that if Wade wasn't fired the 22-23 season would have looked a hell of a lot different.

If Wade left on his own accord right after the 2022 season and McMahon was hired a few weeks later the program would be in the EXACT same state it is in right now. The "cloud of uncertainty" that only existed in the minds of the chicken little LSU fan base who evidently thought it was still 1995 instead of 2022 with NIL and freedom of transfer had little to no effect on McMahon's recruiting as evidenced by (1) he's signed two top 20 classes and (2) competing for a NCAA Championship isn't at the top of the best recruits' list of priorities. Otherwise, the powerhouse that is Rutgers would not have signed 2 of the top 3 HS prospects this year.
