Which is ironic because the support for Wade is the reason Woodward is LSU’s AD in the first place.
But for Alleva suspending Wade at the end of the 18-19 season, there would not have been a crowd/donor revolt against Alleva at the final game of that season. That revolt DIRECTLY led to the influential people demanding a change at AD.
Alleva was basically fired a month later and Woodward was hired. Without that revolt Alleva isn’t fired that spring. The football team, with Alleva’s HC, then likely wins the NC that fall. The animosity against Alleva for his handling of the Miles years fade away and he isn’t fired (at least for a few years)

Because we had the best run of LSU basketball since the 90's. Everyone. Before and After Wade (besides a few Brady years) has astronomically sucked

Will Wade earned an SEC regular season title and what would have been 4 straight trips to the NCAA tournament if not for Covid in the 2019-20 postseason. He earned backing from the fanbase. He also earned the ability to laugh at Matt McMahon and his awful basketball program at LSU.
What he did not earn was the media backlash he received. Dick Vitale can go frick himself. Woodward bowed down like a pussy to a false narrative passed around on Twitter by a bald fricking joke.
