Why can’t cell service get better in Tiger Stadium during games?

I’m posting from the Dome right now with no issues. If New Orleans can do it certainly LSU can.

We just beat Bama. And are bitching about cell service. While at a Saints game.

Get off your phone for a second and watch the game.

I haven’t found Tiger Stadium to be too terrible lately

Definitily has gotten better than it used to be

I also find it odd that in 2019 people are still experiencing dropped calls in certain areas.

The PVC pipe blocks all the signals.

You do know tiger stadium holds way more people than the dome...

All crammed around each other. Not to mention the other thousands of people who tailgate and don't go into the stadium.

They need to install cell towers in the stadium.

I couldn't look up scores at all during the Auburn or Florida games.

You’re right. Probably more than double on LSU campus on game day.

More on campus than in downtown New Orleans?

I suspect the cellular capabilities are better at the Dome because it is in the CBD. But, I wonder what the population count is in a one-mile radius of both stadiums during a game.

Look for the white square boxes when you walk up the ramps. That's a cell antenna. A major cell service upgrade was done not long ago and the service was great when the I went to a game last season.

The dome has a service called “compulsory offload”

Verizon offloads cellular traffic to their WiFi access points which number in the hundreds around the dome. Dunno if ATT has the same. Very expensive to install

TS is basically one gigantic block of rebarred concrete. Drilling conduit pathways drive the cost of installation to $15M for a similar service

Service in TS is better than it used to be but still not good. I was getting texts and Snapchat’s all night in BDS last night with no issues

The Dome has upgraded their networks the last few years. Works really well now.

But yea I think think campus has a higher concentration of people.

There are more cell towers in down town NOLA than at LSU, if I had to guess.
