On top of what everyone else is saying, I'm also actively rooting against teams drafting any of the high schoolers committing to LSU which makes the dynamic totally different. If a player I know gets drafted I'm disappointed.

imagine how much more fun mlb would be with smaller and shorter everything. smaller farm system,shorter season,less draft picks. just everything smaller would make the game much more exciting.

Most people have never heard of the vast majority of high school kids being drafted & very few people getting drafted will ever see the field of an MLB game.

Because they haven't been living on our TV screens for the past 3 years like NFL draft prospects.
When Burrow was drafted, everyone knew who he was and had heard of his exploits. Even outside Louisiana, your average fan knew about him.
Outside of this board, no one knows Curiel or the LSU draft class and we don't know anything about the rest of the draftees, especially the high schoolers.

Well nothing is more exciting than seeing Braxton drafted in the first round from Conroe High School to never be seen again as he goes on a 10 year minor league journey before he finds himself dressing in a tutu with the Savanah Bananas.

The first time I listened to the MLB draft over the Internet picks took less than 10 seconds each. It was actually quite fascinating.
