You are on idiot along with Woodward to even ask this question

Why post something that you obviously know very little about. You McMen/ fatward lovers are retards!

Because of that overtly ridiculous 10 year contract for mid tier coach Brian Kelly

The NCAA made it impossible to keep Will Wade, every school in that situation would’ve done the same thing.
There were schools in very similar situations that didn’t do the same thing.

Bingo. We have a winner.

Because he lets MM linger. Emmert did not let DiNardo linger in 1999. Ran him out of town, then hired Saban. Fans are tired of the lingering. Firing is just as important as hiring, especially when you hired a placeholder. The next guy should be waiting the the que. This is not a good look for Scott.

How about a prediction for football next season?
I’m bullish on the Tigers. I have their record at a minimum of 10 wins in the regular season AND a trip to the playoffs. From that point, seeding will be important, but I still think LSU makes a run at (and legitimately could win) a National Championship.
Would that still be “mid-tier” to you?
Seriously, what are your expectations next year?

Agreed
I would be telling MM that he needs to pull a Kelly and put his own dough into the NIL pool or he can expect to be shown the door much sooner rather than later.
Stuff like the loss to Texas at home is grossly unacceptable.

You people are so butt hurt about the dumbest things. He didn’t stand up for the fans??? Lol

Scott has obviously made some great hires since he came here. Baseball, WBB, and gym are probably the 2nd, 4th, and 5th biggest sports at LSU and all have won championships.
But football and men’s basketball will always be the big 2 sports at MOST major programs, and we have done next to nothing in those two sports since he arrived.

IMO, the NCAA cut a deal to keep the pressure OFF LSU football....

What makes you think Wade wants to come back to LSU?

9 wins, maybe, if no one gets hurt.

There is absolutely nothing pointing to LSU winning a championship in football next season.

In my opinion, he hired Pelini with the sole purpose of "greasing the skids" to get rid of Orgeron. It worked.
So the two winningest Coaches, of the biggest money making sports, were fired for politics.

similar but different
And Will Wade isn’t Bill Self.

Fat Woody could have given the finger to the NCAA, like other schools did. But he caved like the pussy he is.

Regardless if one agrees with the decision to let Wade go or not, I think everyone can agree it was a complicated situation at the time…Involving far more than just Wade and LSU basketball.
I think Woodward would probably agree privately and off-the-record…. MM has simply turned into a bad hire that hasn’t worked out. While not fun for the fans or people that make hires, It happens when hiring. Especially when hiring high-profile positions.
Bad hires happen. I think the criticism of Woodward should probably be on the contract term and amount. It’s easy at this point to second-guess, but we probably would have been better off plugging in someone like John Brady on the cheap to get through the couple years post-Wade reasonably knowing there were going to be a couple “down years” while the storm passed regardless of who we hired.
It is what it is. Rather than point fingers and second-guess, I think the best thing to do now is regroup, formulate a plan moving forward based on how this season and possibly next season play out, get your ducks in a row financially, and move forward and try to make the situation better.
