Here we go with the intellectual dishonesty. It is widely accepted that LSU has this problem more than other schools, but you're going to tout an outlier year to try to argue otherwise.

And rashard Lawrence & Kristian Fulton the year before

But hey Malachi Dupre went pro 5 years ago, so it’s still an issue

They’re selling their guys on winning championships. LSU has sold itself on getting to the NFL.

I think the culture started under Les and O has continued to sell the NFL dream. What you’re seeing this year is what happens when you miss on a class under this model (2018). Next year and going forward should be good.

Hopefully Stingley doesn’t opt out or mail it in next season. I’m pleased to see some defensive growth, though next season will be another huge turnover.

Draft eligible:

Cox
Logan
Anthony
Farrell
Thornton
Cam Lewis
Darren Evans
Jacoby Stevens
Baskerville
Clark

Clyde Edwards-Helaire, running back
Justin Jefferson, wide receiver
Thaddeus Moss, tight end
Lloyd Cushenberry III, center
Saahdiq Charles, offensive tackle
K’Lavon Chaisson, edge rusher
Jacob Phillips, linebacker
Patrick Queen, linebacker
Grant Delpit, safety

Just from last year.

6 players the year before, including 2 undrafted and a late 7th pick.

Players have always only played for themselves. To believe otherwise just shows your own ignorance

Far from the norm and had any of the won the championship last year, none of them would have returned for this year

So its just a buttfrick cowinky dink to you and lester why over a 7 year period LSU has a material lead on early opt outs vs other elite recruiting teams?

In your example, how is bama, who wins way more titles than us doing better at not losing players?

What else can you offer a kid who want to play NFL football?

If they had the option to go pro right out of high school, 99.9999% of these “top players” would do so and never set foot on a college field.

Thanks for posting this

The fact we have “fans” here that are damn near giddy about this and proud of it is sad.

You’re not cool or progressive or enlighten by taking a stance of you wanting some 20 yr old kid to make a bunch of money.
That “kid” doesn’t give one single frick about any of us.

You’ll never see a dime of the money.
It has zero fricking impact on your life whatsoever. ... on the flip side, LSU winning does have a small impact on most of our lives.

In short, GTF over yourselves when it comes to this need to defend guys leaving early or opting out.
It’s not what’s best for LSU or its fans, and fact is we are all fans.

They lose more players than we do. They just recruit better and are rarely left with complete inexperience at key positions

You don’t think nick Saban goes into a kids home & sells them on the ability to play in the nfl? That’s what the kids want.

With Bama and Saban, it’s process over results. He hammers it home in every interview. Yes, he has the rings and the track record of getting guys into the pros and I’m sure he sells that, but he has also created a culture that helps keep players invested in their own improvement before leaving. They are more apt to come back to improve their draft stock at Bama because of how the entire program is structured and how they are taught (or indoctrinated) from the moment they step on campus.

The entire system is designed to make the players want to stay until they are high 1st round locks and that works almost without fail. And it’s so effective that even some sure fire guys stay when they don’t have to. It’s sports psychology at its finest.

Can you read?

quote:

There is an epidemic at LSU that is becoming ingrained in its purple-and-gold fabric: Underclassmen, even those projected as late- or mid-round selections, are declaring for the NFL draft at a higher rate than any other college program in the nation.

Over the past six years, 32 non-seniors at LSU declared for the draft. That is eight more than the next closest team, Florida State (24). Florida is next at 23 before a jumble of programs round out the top 10: Alabama, Clemson and OhioState (20 each), Southern California (19), Stanford and Notre Dame (15 each) and UCLA (14).

Our lead has only grown as well
