Why am I supposed to be so mad at Wade signing "pros"?

Oh no! Those guys were low level pros! They were paid to play basketball. That should make them ineligible to....be paid millions as NCAA amateur athletes.
I mean come on. College sports have gotten so dumb. You've got dudes being paid millions, why have we got all the moral outrage acting like the lines between amateurism and professional haven't been totally destroyed by NIL and rev share. These guys are professionals. They're playing ball for a living.
I don't like it. But here we are so I don't care.
frick Off and Boot Up.

We had zero players left on the roster
These are the same people who'd be clowning WW if he had gone straight transfer portal to rebuild the entire team and we ended up being complete arse year 1

Yeah, about that. Not sure you understand what that means.
FYI, they have no Louisiana players on the state flagship team
So NO, the boot up sjit doesn't apply

Because this is college athletics and they are amateurs! You can't be a professional athlete and get paid money to play sports and then go back to college and be an amateur and get paid more money! We have to protect the integrity of college athletics!
Its all so dumb
Eta: my post was sarcasm for those who didn't understand my exclamation points followed by "Its all so dumb" comment. It's dumb the way people react to "pros" wanting to come back to college to play ball as if the college athletes aren't pros too. The whole "amateur athlete" ship has sailed and it's not coming back. It's time we all treat these kids (young adults) like professionals.

I'm not "mad" at anyone but if this is what college sports is now, why should I care?
That's the part they're taking for granted.

It's because LSU is attempting to sign players that (by the book) are out of eligibility with the intention of challenging via lawsuit.

It’s funny how making a mockery of the current RULES gets Wade chastised. I don’t like what he’s doing, but it’s the NCAA’s fault, not Wade’s. If they don’t like it, change the rule.

Of the Top-30 ranked players in the actual transfer portal whether they are signed or unsigned. 10 are internationals that some had years of professional experience before they came over to the States, while one or two actually still have professional contracts in place with overseas clubs. Not a word was said about the 6-7 universities they are committed/signed to. If you go look at Florida, Michigan, I didn’t but I would say probably most of the Sweet 16 teams in recent years, they have internationals with pro experience. Not a word was said until Wade did what he did. I will not go into or mention what Jeff Goodman said in his rant, because what he said crossed a line professionally, personally, and morally. If I was Wade not only would I never speak to him again, be hard pressed with what he said to not want to hurt him physically on site. But Todd Golden came out and said the same message that Tom Izzo and Jeff Goodman alluded to. But Todd Golden’s best shooter, who was the SEC 6th man of the year, and a huge piece to them winning it allI is a player from Slovenia that played professionally for years in lower leagues than any of the guys Wade is bringing in, and is speaking on Wade doing something wrong. Somebody make that make sense, not the part where Golden/Florida can do it but then Wade and LSU can’t because it could “destroy” or change CBB. I mean the part where every one of these players that Wade has committed were available to anyone else, not just college basketball teams, but any men’s rec league team, any countries national team, the NBA, the ABA which hasn’t existed in decades. Upwards of 15 major universities tried to get them, some like in the case if Dessert have been trying to get him over for multiple years and couldn’t get it done. So can just one voice have the stones to say the truth. CWW isn’t one of them, we don’t like him because not that we are threatened (they are) but we don’t like him because he is not asking any of us our opinions or letting us know what he wants to do.
So I know for a fact, that many of them tread really lightly because they go further they are speaking on a class of coaches and guys in the business. Oliver Prunell very well respected in the sport trusted and believed in Wade. Tommy Amaker widely respected and he might be in the top 5 of longest tenured coaches, trusted and believed in Wade that Will was his first hire ever. Shaka Snart widely respected in the sport, trusted and believed in Wade that he made Will his first hire ever. Quin Snyder, Mike Brey, Johnny Dawkins, Sean Miller, John Lucas Sr, and craziest of all Coach K who is more like the vast majority of basketball establishment hell the connections Wade built by his own character came from the Coach K tree, they all silently support him fully and respect him to no end, those are facts.
What a bunch of children nobody will say it to them, look he has every disadvantage going against him and still rolls up and continues to not only win, he is taking what you think is yours, flaunting it, and their response is what you see.

I’m not mad at it at all. Excited to watch us not suck. But I do absolutely hope this is reigned in soon.

Its all a big joke now. A true farce to pretend these sports have anything to do with "student atheltics".
I am not mad at LSU for making a mockery of the retarded system but I hope big changes are made soon to this crap because its just stupid minor league ball

Kentucky didn’t pay Anthony Davis he was strictly an amateur back in the day. He probably even went to class. Hahahahahahaha

The current environment is shitty. There's no denying that. Wade is trying to put together the best team he possibly can and will do everything in his power to do so. He got the job in late March. He and his staff identified a small number of players in the portal who were good enough to play at LSU. Is he just supposed to roll over and put together a trash roster? The last guy did that, and you see where he ended up.
All of these crybabies singling out Wade had no problem when the same 5-10 programs signed all of the McDonald's All-Americans and paid them and their families money under the table. That is the college basketball they yearn for.

We were all against it when Bama signed Bediako after he'd already signed an NBA contract and played in the G-League.
Its hypocritical to be in favor of LSU doing the same. Especially after Bediako's lawsuit to regain eligibility ultimately failed. I don't want college sports to become a fall back option for players who went pro and couldn't cut it there, so they come back to try to play college ball again.
Once you sign with a professional league team, then you shouldn't be eligible to play in the NCAA anymore. We'd all feel that way if it was UNC, Kansas, and Florida loading up with former pro players.
