I agree 100%.
First and foremost in CFB you HAVE to be able to recruit. The guy was at PSU for 2 seasons with ZERO expectations. Both on the field and on the recruiting trail. He essentially signed one class...which was ranked 47th in the country. Now, that's not surprising given the sanctions the program was under. But it doesn't really tell us if he has the ability to recruit. THAT is what would concern me

Matt Campbell, to me he’s proven nothing that convinces me he can be at LSU. Everyone says it’s so hard to win at ISU, so why is Iowa consistently a top team in the Big 10 (a better conference)? And Brock Purdy has regressed since his sophomore year. Plus he’s never been a head coach anywhere that has the expectations that LSU has, doesn’t have the southeastern connections, never coached big time recruits/1st rd NFL prospects. He might be good at somewhere else but I don’t see the fit at LSU.

I’ll give you mine, since he won’t answer. I’d make Dabo tell me no more than once. He has the stability and demeanor to help bring this program back to where it needs to be. He shows he can do what Orgeron obviously can’t, that’s sustaining a championship program, not win one and then hit the cellar. Dabo may not even consider leaving Clemson but I’d certainly go after him.

We tried bringing in a coach from another conference (Miles) and had to fire him.

Dabo has had the easiest road to the playoffs year in and year out. He’s overrated. And he’s had the benefit of stable coordinators.
Urban would be my first call once he’s fired. He’s the best college coach after Saban and has titles in both conferences.
We could pull a Bama 2.0 getting him from the NFL like they did with Saban

He's done a tremendous job at Clemson. No one will deny that. But does it translate to LSU? First, would his longtime DC come with him? If not, then you kind of lose a big part of the stability aspect. Also, this is the first season without their co-OC tandem AND Trevor Lawrence...and the offense is awful? Is it that neither one is good on their own? Or is it that they just got supremely fortunate to hit on two great Georgia QBs (Watson and Lawrence) and now that they are gone you're seeing Clemson start to slide back to a good, but not great program? Plus, Clemson has had the luxury to play in a TERRIBLE conference with no real challengers. Yes, it's still hard to be good week after week, but that is a different world than playing in the SEC West where it can be a grind every week.
Now, other than Saban, I don't think you can say any other HC has been better than Dabo. So if, for whatever reason, he was looking to move, you don't turn him down. I'm just saying there are reasons to at least wonder if it would translate at LSU

So you want someone fired by the Raiders, left on the tarmac by USC, left Tennessee high and dry, sleeps with his bosses daughter, and goes for it on 4th and 8 from his own 20 yardline in a 7 point game.
Meanwhile, while firing a Coach who won you a National Championship...Gotcha!

Yeah I agree there's lots of red flags around kiffin to me

And where has that coach been? The guy punching himself in the jaw and then sitting on the sideline with his drawers full of shite refusing to make basic adjustments while the opponent body slams us ain't it. History will tell the 2019 team was so loaded even ed orgeron won with it. If you don't believe me look at 2010 auburn and 2001 Miami.
