There is no need to rush, but we should be planning.

We will have to see who is available in 4 or 5 years from now!

Deion Sanders . He can coach and recruit . He can also market . Think about it …

Let Jeff Landry find someone from somewhere in Florida.

I am telling you … think about Deion . He really likes coaching , he can recruit , he can market the university … it’s a win/win . He understands the type of athlete needed to compete in the SEC .

Yes but he is playing with Willie Fritz’s recruits . Fritz left because he wanted a certain guy for AD ( after he brought the Tulane FB program out of the dumpster ) and of course , Tulane got somebody else .

Doesn’t matter at this point. He will be here for a few more years. Get used to 3 more years of at least three losses and a crappy bowl.
Ok. I accept that. I’ll take 3-5 more years of 9-3 or 8-4 teams at LSU.
While we’re doing that, can we do it with a team full of mean motherfrickers that play for blood? DBs that HIT. LBs that are fearsome specimens that teams don’t want to play against? How about RB that hits the line hard and can’t be tackled by cornerbacks.
THAT’S what’s wrong with CBK and the teams he puts on the field. We’re not gonna see players like that while he’s here.

Of course it's not happening. But if we talk realistically about how that could go down, you're going to have to pay Brian Kelly some combination of buyout payments totaling around $58.5 million. Some immediate sum followed by payments.
Buyout payment details are up to the parties but if we assume the Jimbo structure, 25% of what he's owed on the buyout followed by remaining payments over the contracts term. That's a $14.625 million payment due at termination followed by 7 payments of $6.27 million through 2031.
Or go with what they did with Orgerons buyout, 34% of the total buyout at termination and 18 payments over the term. That's $19.89 million at firing and payments of $2.15 million over 18 payments through December of 2031 potentially split into multiple payments a year like we did coach O.
Now keep in mind were about to get into a revenue sharing model with the players. It gets unpalatable to being paying 2 coaches many millions of dollars. Ultimately if you fire Kelly this year, you can't go out and hire a Kiffin on another $100 million contract. You'd have to hire some up and comer coordinator or G5 coach on a contract that reflects that.
