I go with none of the above and say shep. He may not can (BE ABLE TO) catch but he is a playmaker.

he goes down like a sack of potatoes. We have seen him leap into a hole at the line his freshman year and be taken down like a 6 yr old. BOOM!!

The correct answer is Paul Turner.

Depends. Do you want a guy that can pound it or someone who can throw it?

Probably the one who has played a significant amount of snaps as a college QB, particularly in the SEC.

Shep but coach won't let him throw.

Yep... Randle... hands down. Every LSU fan needs to watch his highlights... and he's our 5th string.

not actual wildcat, but I'd like to see JJ running the read option with Shep as the back. Say what you want about JJ, but he runs that pretty well. Putting Shep back there gives you an interesting matchup; JJ as the pounder (and he does hit hard), and Shep to stretch to the sideline. If you play to take away Shep's sweep, JJ should be able to get 5+ yds at will. If you bunch to stop him, Shep could break a big one. Occasionally just for giggles JJ could look deep corner or post to Randle when they cheat up.

Since both are potentially looking for a spot to play (and don't fit into the current scheme well), they'd make a good 2nd package to complement our I formation (Lee at qb, Randle and Beckham at wr, Ware/Ford at tb).

I think Shep by far. I know it was HS but he was pretty freakin' electric from the QB spot. He could even...dare I say...throw a pass.

Spence, with Shep as the sweep man.

if one does not say #10, than that person did not see any of RS's high school video! he was incredible in this type of role in HS and has yet to even be given one chance, in live play, to run a real wild cat play. once I believe in a spring game he did and he would have had a 50 plus yrd td against LSU’s 1st team defense (but I think the play was blown dead.)

Missed his freshman year where he averaged 7 ypc? Shep looked great in that role before being moved to WR.

I wouldn't mind Ware or Shepard running it.

1) nope, saw the entire thing, and you're right - the way he was used his Fresh yr would be a better role for him BUT...

2) that was FAR from a true wild cat formation (he NEVER ONCE took a snap from center, faked a handoff to one of our great RBs, and had a chance to run to open space up field.)
I don't consider just taking a snap from center and running left or right a true wild cat!!! What D-Mac and Jones did at Arky was a true wild cat formation.

RS has "not lived up to expectations" because he is not being put in situations that play to his strong points, and that is making plays with a little bit of open space...

Can't wait to see him on the field, dude looks legit. Next season he's going to be the Perrilloux to Mettenberger's Flynn.
