It's not personal...I still wanted him to start over Harris last year. Not because he was good but because i already knew what harris was going to do. Maybe I'm with the backup QB being the better option thing. I'll take that but having something personal against the QB that scored all of 0 points against bama?? I don't need any ammunition for that. Yes I'm grading him on just the bama game because it's all that really matters. We beat them we get everything we deserve. We don't we end up in the gator bowl or something. Everybody in the SEC hoping we start etling trust me. We would scare even bama if we named another starter. I just can't believe we don't have a better option with 4 other qb's on the roster. He as also looked the least impressive in practice from what i've read.

Now that will be entirely up to the coaches. I've seen a few scrimmages, and even more practices. He has looked good. If you're right, it won't be because he's not capable. He's thrown (and run) well. The depth chart does appear be locked based upon classification. I think that a real battle ensues next spring. If you start moving 2nd string thru 4th string around right now, guys start transferring. Coaches have seemed more concerned with maintaining depth, and teaching a new system, than finding the heir apparent. IMO

Dude Etling lost 3 games by a combined score of 21 points, 2 games in the last second and took bama to the 3rd tied with Cam's offense while playing injured as well.

He's supposed to get that injury fixed which I think improves his game on top of what Canada's offense brings to the table. With those 2 issues fixed I believe LSU will win at least 2 of those games and we would have a better shot to beat bama as well.

Put a guy with zero experience and toss up a coin. LSU would absolutely have growing pains. The QB position isn't just running with or throwing the football, it takes much more to run an efficient effective offense. Etling has this teams trust right now so it will take a monumental task to overcome that. It's just the way it is. He's not that bad of a QB if you ask me. He's not going to win a heisman but he will battle his tail off to win. I like that and so does our players and coaches. GT

The only way Etling doesn't start is if he gets injured.

LOL at everyone who thinks there is no legit QB competition. Canada will not give it to Etling just because he started last year Etling is not the best QB on this roster. He is probably the favorite, but it is ridiculous to say that we are "kidding" ourselves because there is a competition
