No, and it was a gift to have the interim head coaching that his record demonstrated. He did not meritorious get that job. Thankless? He is the one who should be thankful for the gift gave him! He is the interim because 1) he’s head coached before (similar to O being the interim, was he also DEI cuz of a losing record before?) and 2) players broadly like him. Team unity is important during a coaching firing/transition.

I'm sure you mean well in your question. What you may not be aware is that football isn't rocket science although some coaches make it seem like it. So, it would not be teaching coaches or players anything as much as changing up the game plan. Figuring out what plays are best for the players. Just those two aspects would transform the team into a totally different team!

1) No Wilson was a head coach twice O had not. Apples to oranges.
2) I could careless if the players feel comfortable with the HC! Are you a wuss? Jeez!

Ed O was a head coach prior to that stint at LSU. Frank Wilson is coaching the bowl game because we aren't gonna install a completely different scheme with a team that cant execute the scheme they've been practicing for 6 months. It's that simple there is nothing else at play. As far as why Frank was selected it's probably just prior experience and the fact that he was more likely to still have a job as a recruiter than a DC with a new HC.
