My guess is Hal Hughes will be given first crack at it

Man its football seas...... Damn I wish we had one more game

Hal Hughes to start off. If he's near, or below Mendoza when we start SEC, it will be Zach Arnold.

The job belongs to Hughes right now. I actually think his bat will improve this year, but I am an optimist. The only competition he has is Arnold. According to the other thread, Arnold is still dealing with his injury from the fall.

Doesn't Cade Douughty have a lot of potential at the SS position... or is his future at another position? His bat supposed to be legit too as opposed to Hal Hughes

More of a third baseman from what I understand

CPM strategy is to recruit nothing but SS and move them to different positions so there should be an open competition. Hopefully someone can beat out Hughes that has a bat!

He hasn’t done this in years. Pay attention

The best scenario is that we won't need Hughes's bat and he will be at SS. His glove is golden. It's just a shame is bat is made of water!

Cade Doughty was a little up an down in the fall with his glove. Mathis on the other hand looked pretty darn good. You can expect Mathis at 3rd this year with Cade fighting a bunch of other players for 2nd.

Right. Garza, Beloso, Willis, Cabrera, Travinksi and Hampton all scream SS.

Nice to see the shitty alters come out to bash CPM before the season even starts

EDIT: Correction. You are the co-winner of the above award now that I've read GeismarGeauxer's post in the other baseball thread.

quote:Krob was better than Hughes by alot his first two years
Kramer Robertson was better than HH in first two season, but not by a whole lot. Lots of people wanted Kramer out of the lineup after hitting .211 through his first two seasons
No disrespect to hughes, he seems to be a good kid who works hard. But he has simply been overmatched completely at the plate
Not only did Highes bat .174 last year, his slugging was .188. Thats unreal
