Who will be Coach Canada's biggest competition to have the top scoring offense in the SEC?

Last year Matt Canada:
Pitt scored a total of 532 points for an average of 40.9 points per game - 10th in the nation.
No other SEC team finished in the top 10. The next highest was Alabama:
582 points, average 38.8, 16th in 15 games.
Coach Eaux and LSU have Matt Canada coming in to coach the LSU offense while Alabama lost the OC who had them at 16th in average points per game. The next highest was Tennessee at 24th.
Will Canada have the top scoring offense in the SEC or will Bama with a new OC be able to top him? Auburn? Anyone else?
Do you think there be any explosive offenses in the SEC next season?

This ain't the ACC.
And before you get your panties in a wad, I think Matt Canada is a good coach, but I don't expect LSU to be in the top 10 in scoring offense next year. I think top 3-5 in the SEC would mean we have a hell of a team.
Hopefully he isn't hamstrung by our horrible HC.

The good news is Canada has more material to work with at LSU. But he'll be facing better defenses than he did last year. So it'll be interesting to see how those numbers compare.

I do think Coach O will be anxious to change the perception of the LSU offense - so I can see him up 34-10 after 3 quarters telling Canada not to let up, get into the 40's or 50's if you can.
Auburn and possibly Georgia will be high-scoring teams in the SEC in addition to Bama this year.

I think Auburn will have the top offense in the SEC, followed by Alabama. I think we could very realistically finish behind them. I would be pleasantly surprised if we finished in front of either of them, because both should be very good offensively.

ACC Defense =/= SEC Defense
We will not finish in the top ten nationally.
We will be very happy if we finish top 4 in the SEC.

Coach O is an old school Spurrier type when it comes to scoring. If he has the opportunity to put 70 on you, he will.

I'll be happy with a top 30 offense.

Canada was 532/41 in the ACC
Kiffen was 582/39 in the SEC.
Had no idea that Bama's O was as good as Canada's O but even in a better conference.

Neither was the SEC last year. The ACC won the national championship. The SEC didn't.

He had a top 10 scoring offense playing against good defenses and teams. North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Penn St, etc.
He finished ahead of Florida State, Clemson, Louisville (Heisman QB) in scoring and played in the same conference as those teams.
Pitt did not have as much or more talent that Miami, Florida State, Louisville, Clemson, etc and Canada still had a better offense than every one of those talented teams.

I think personal attacks on players and coaches may be something you can get banned for.

I'm sorry. I know you only enjoy threads that bash the LSU head coach and don't care about anything else having to do with LSU.

If bashing coaches was a ban worthy offense, almost no one would be able to post on this board. Think of all the Miles, Jones, and Mainieri threads over the years.

Not when they're the truth.

For some reason I have a feeling Georgia will have a good offense this year.

I don't think they're going to average 40 per game but South Carolina's offense will be good also.

I think everywhere he has been the talent has been fairly similar to what he had. Even coaching in the MAC, people can say well they don't have as much talent in that league and there is in the SEC. While true, all the teams have roughly the same quality of talent. So I think that is a wash.
The difference for me was last year. I don't believe Pitt has close to the talent of a Florida State, Clemson, Miami, Louisville, etc in the ACC. He still had the best scoring offense in the conference.
At LSU a few SEC teams may be able to match the talent but only one team HAS more talent.

Yep Eaux and Canada are going to want to sign the best offensive players so they will do what it takes to make LSU an explosive and fun to play in offense.

Canada scored 76 points on Syracuse last year while at Pitt. Syracuse comes to LSU this year and Canada will have Aranda feeding his offense the ball quite often. I wonder how many times LSU has scored over 100 points in a game?

I can't tell if you really are this dense or if you just pretend. The SEC had 4 top 10 scoring defenses last year. The ACC had 1 (Clemson at #10).

These are the top 4 scoring defenses he played last year. They rank 10, 28, 43, and 47. The top 4 defenses he will face this year ranked 1, 6, 7, and 14 (BYU)

Just because you don't agree that our HC is severely underqualified for the position that he has does not mean its a personal attack.
