Alley Broussard is part of what happened......then he fizzled, too.

Jerry Stovall needs to be added. He should have won the Heisman one year.

I would say CANNON! Still the only Heisman we got! Fournette is on pace to be the highest statistical runner we have ever had if he keeps the pace and has as many touches at Kevin Faulk.

Hill averaged 13.25 touches per score. Just unreal.

Hilliard........He had an amazing amount of yards while still sharing carries with Garry James........

For his time: Billy canon
For one season: Jeremy Hill
For part of a season: Cecil Collins
In two years the answer to all of these questions will be.....BUGA!!!!

I've never seen Billy Cannon, Jimmy Taylor, Steve Van Buren, or Johnny Robinson, the greatest RB I've ever seen #4 Charles Alexander in 1977 he went for 1686 in 11, & 195(I think)in the Sun Bowl VS Stanford, & Bowl Games weren't added to the stats, like they are today.

What are Van Buren's stats?
Posted on 1/30/15 at 2:19 pm to Grandmike
He went crazy in The Orange Bowl 24 carries for 160 yards, & is 1 of 3 in Canton Ohio, in 1943, he led The Nation in Scoring with 98 Points & ranked 2nd in The Country with 847 yards.

Obviously some guys played 4 years, others just two or one that's why I used # of plays stat
I think when discussing the GOAT rb here, it is important to consider years played. Afterall we are splitting hairs and if two players have the same average stats, but one did it for 4 years and one only played 2, I would have to give the nod to the 4 yr guy

Eh, Cannon played 3 years to Hill's 1.5. More games now, obviously, but he only got 20 more plays.
Strong argument for Hill given best play/td ratio, and second best yards per play.
Faulk is probably easily the best all around player on the list though.

Cecil was a baaaaaaad man...

Faulk or Hilliard
Faulk 4th all-time in SEC history in yards from scrimmage, Faulk is 3rd all time in rushing touchdowns (Walker & Tebow).
Hilliard 3rd all-time in SEC history in yards from scrimmage, Dalton is 5th all time in rushing touchdowns.
