Why the hell do we get stuck with them?

A&M is mega lame. I can’t think of a single team from prior to when they joined, that I wouldn’t rather play except for like Vandy.

When I attended LSU and lived on campus, Ole Miss was our big time rival. We had Ole Miss week where they would set garbage cans on fire and the guys would go to the other side of the campus to the girl's dorm where the girls would throw some panties out of the windows of their dorms. I knew one guy who caught a pair and when he went back to his dorm to look at what he caught, one pair of panties had sh-t stains all over them. Other guys caught panties where you could tell the girls had pissed in them. Police would be around the Union to grab any guy who they saw return from the panty raid. If they caught you, you would be put in a paddy wagon and be brought to jail. You were never booked but they taught you a lesson by keeping you in there during the LSU OLE MISS game.

who wants A&M as a permanent rival?
Not me, if so then we’re doing them a favor

They are just so irrelevant to me. I have no feelings one way or another about them and I find myself rooting for them in games more often than not because we have no rivalry whatsoever and I pull for SEC teams not named Auburn when they don’t play us.

The order that just pops in my head…
Alabama
Ole Miss
Auburn
Texas A&M
Florida
Mississippi
Arkansas
Could Grow on me…
Texas
Oklahoma
Nice to see here and there…
Georgia
Tennessee
South Carolina
Not really on my radar…
Kentucky
Missouri
Vanderbilt

Ole miss Bama Florida That’s the list
This is correct, and Auburn/Arkansas would be next up before A&M

It won't happen, but I'll take Ole Miss, Arkansas and Florida.

A&M not a real rival but I hate them as much as any team in the SEC.
Would like
Bama (best rivalry growing up, feels like the biggest game every year)
Florida (pretty even through 2000-2020)
Ole Miss (frick them)
If not those 3 give me Auburn then A&M then Arky

Agreed. They are not an historical rival. I don’t get why so many assume that they have to one of our permanent 3. I don’t like them, don’t respect them and don’t want to play them. Don’t want much to do with them , tbh.

Your top 4 is spot on. Those are far and away my favorite games to attend bc of the history and the wars and hate we have for each other
Posted on 8/23/25 at 7:15 am to stephendomalley
Don’t even like em in the SEC
Posted on 8/23/25 at 7:36 am to stephendomalley
I really don't understand why the old big 12 teams don't just have each other for rivals. They played each other for a long time.
Why take away old sec rivalries just to cancel old big 12 foes

why does anyone think they are a natural for our perm 3?
I’m guessing you’re under 30. We played A&M a lot in the past as an OOC game. The series in the 80s and 90s was great, there’s also a lot of LSU alum/fans in Houston.
You also have to look at the other teams natural rivals. Auburn has Bama and UGA you think they want LSU on top of that?

Did you know LSU played A&M every year from 1960-1975, with all of those games in Baton Rouge! LSU was 12-3-1 in those games. And ...
LSU played A&M every year from 1986-1995 (home & home). LSU was 4-6 in those 10 games, with 3 of those wins in Tiger Stadium. And...
LSU has played A&M every year from 2011-2024 (Arlington in 2011 and home & home since). LSU is 1-0 on a neutral site, 3-4 at Kyle Field and 6-0 in Tiger
Stadium.
That, sir, is a rivalry

We aren’t rivals with Alabama, either.
