They won’t. They’ll be worse.

The schedule appears to be brutal as well. start off with USCw. UCLA and Georgia in addition to the regular games.

I’d say we’re pretty screwed.

Will be lucky to go 7-5. We have at least one more loss this year. That would be a three year downward trend for Kelly. What does he care? Really? He has his cash and they cannot fire him.

Good programs are built by staggering recruiting classes that compliment each other every year. A combination of older and younger players that are brought in due to your liking.

Kelly’s inherited roster was always going to be a multi year project to have lsu competitive again year to year. I’m not surprised fans can’t see this, but lsu has one of the dumber fan bases in America

Nuss should be better than JD was his 1st year here, oline will be beastly, RB is loaded with some high end game breaking talent. Wrs will have talent but not alot of experience so probably use our TE's more in the passing game like pimp. For defense fire House and the staff and with the right hires (people do not understand how big of a loss Cain leaving was) I could see the defense back to the level of Kelly's first year. With a few hits from the portal and not totally missing like this year I'll say next year team has a really good chance of being in playoff contention.

Did you expect Daniels to be putting up 500 yards a game this year the day after the Bama game last year?

No but we knew we would be better. We returned every starter on that side of the ball.

Lester, what are the chances that LSU has a better W/L record next year? What should one expect after year three? As always, thanks for your wisdom.

It won’t be. Just losing JD, Nabers and Thomas makes us significantly worse on offense.

And unless a new defensive coaching staff can work a miracle, not sure the defense will be a whole lot better.

And factor in next year’s schedule, it could get really ugly.

I have no idea, tell me who the QB & how they fill some of the holes & I’ll have a better idea.

Kelly has one recruiting class of his own under his belt. The roster is not close to being in his likeness yet.

Not sure that’s true. We all knew the defense had too many issues to really contend for a national title. But no one thought it would be this bad. Also, pre season no one thought JD would be this good.

We don’t play Georgia next year
We get Vandy, South Carolina and Oklahoma in addition to the usual SECw schedule (minus auburn)

Lester, you know more that all of the other Ranters combined. No idea who will be QB? DL, defensive secondary? Wow.

Follow up question, we are likely about to have a 2nd DB recruit flip to another SEC school. How does that factor in to Brian Kelly’s plan of his multi year project and having a good mix of older and younger players?

The Tigers need to find a defense somewhere - somehow.

I don’t see how it is “better.” This defense is atrocious and once again LSU must gamble on the portal for some help.

Offense will not be as prolific for obvious reasons, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be efficient. I expect a more traditional Kelly offense with a dominating run game and incorporating the tight ends more.
Defense is a huge question mark. There are some good young players to build around but will have to rely on the portal again, which is a crap shoot.

Idk, are you counting the DBs lsu has committed that other SEC schools also wanted? Probably not, huh? Doesn’t trigger you enough I guess.
