Gabe was the first I thought of as well.

Melancon doesn’t get the credit he should. LSUs alltime sack leader (25) including 10 in 11 games during the 1981 Sugar Bowl run. He’s also a staple of likely our best back to back group of LBs during his time from 80-83 with Micheal Brooks, Al Richardson and Lawrence Williams bridging the gap between Richardson and Brooks. He was the constant threat that allowed the others to become better players at the forefront of the transition of the OLB evolution where that position turned into its modern mold. Great and underrated Tiger.

I'm going to go with Gabe Northern for sheer violence in his sacks.
Henry Thomas could get after the QB as well.
Toby Caston as well

I always enjoyed watching Rahim Alem get after the QB.

Have NO idea what you’re talking about here. LSU went to the ‘83 Orange Bowl, and the ‘85 and ‘87 Sugar Bowls.
For the record...Melancon, Brooks, and Northern are the 3 best I’ve ever seen.

Funny you mention the 83 orange bowl and left out Leonard Marshall.

Plenty of great names.
The first name I thought of was Michael Brooks. I only wish that we had more online video of him
He came close to dominating some games and he sometimes reminded me of Lawrence Taylor.
