Lots of talk but having read several stories it's unclear as to who exactly is definitely out at UNC. If you know please post with link. Please no nega-Davis postings.

Can anyone elaborate as to whether these guys can be re-instated or are they out of school as well?

doesnt say but i doubt they'll be re-instated if they've been booted before the full investigation is completed.

Here is an article from The Bleacher Report that has a lot of good information on the situation, and here is another from VegasInsider.com. I will have more information when it becomes available.

Last night late, ESPN ran a line on the ticker, one time only that 9 players including 3 D starters were moved to the scout team.

I watched for hours waiting for it again but it never re-appeared. Could be more ESPN bad info or good info they weren't supposed to report.

Either way, this level of distraction is a bad thing for NC but will diminish our W.

I don't think anyone is official yet and that might not happen until game time.

I do wish we could play against their best because anything less and an LSU win the stupid ESPN people will just say it's because we didn't go against their best.

How so? Will our record be 0.75-0 after beating them? Does it count as less than 1 win?

Come November, nobody will care who played for UNC. A win is a win. Nobody cared about that when we skullf-cked Arizona in 2006, even though they were an awful team from a BCS conference.

The only people making an issue of this are the Miles haters that look for every little thing to discredit what he does.

I could care less if ESPN plays down a win. Our schedule is such that it doesn't matter.

Erin Summers of WRAL in Raleigh also reported that "it's all but four players on the starting defense who are involved in the academic infractions."

The information from our source falls right in line with the -- as yet unconfirmed -- reports that the majority of the defensive starters were removed from the first team reps during Carolina's closed practice, and that Chancellor Holden Thorp addressed the football team on the field earlier.

No it won't. And in an objective environment your point would be stronger. However, we all know that poll voting is anything but objective.

My point being that starting as low as we are, it would have been much better for us to beat NC without this happening. Beating NC now will get us less of a jump in the polls than it would have previously... IMO.

I agree that there are multiple facets to the argument but the press won't entertain any of them other than 'NC was missing 'x' players and that helped LSU'.

If it is only 3 defensive starters according to ESPn we they should only be 1000000X more talented

9 players is a lot of they are al starters or all d starters, but if 6 are on the offensive side then that isn't as bad the o will be terrible either way

Precisely. This is not a difficult matter to grasp.

Marvin Austin needs to "disappear" as quickly as possible for the Heels. He's setting records for NCAA infractions all by himself.
