I remember when they used to walk Mike on a leash and let him jump at the opposing players, he killed 1 guy and PETA shut it down.

Mike will never enter the stadium on a game day again. That has been clear for years. Fairly certain the Vet School has said as much.

Never say never. People retire, new people come in..

I got on the field before the 2010 West Virginia game when they still brought Mike on the field. I took this picture of him.

My baby brother used to sneak into the stadium by jumping in the back of the pickup truck that towed the cage in. He did it a lot. Apparently all you had to do was just act like you were supposed to be there

That and the Indian mounds. These traditions need to be restored.

Yeah, along with the tradition of putting autistic children in the stocks and throwing rotten tomatoes at them for fun. Or taking babies with deformities to the woods and leaving them. Damn the “humane and decency” thing as long as we are entertained right?

They could maybe do it during a spring game. Much smaller crowd. More quiet. It would be a good reason to get people to come out for it.

Oh ffs, make it stop.

I’ve stood right next to the cage when they were getting the tiger to roar. The cage they pulled him around in was really small. The grill was so thick you could hardly see the tiger. One of the cheerleaders would grab a microphone and run up to the cage to antagonize Mike until he finally roared, and the mob like it. The end, yay.

Last game was McNeese game that got cancelled I believe. Much like the LED lights that everyone wants we appeased the younger crowd with cool fireworks and a cannon blast.
Next thing you know Mike no longer likes going and hasn’t been back since. Probably never will.

I was in school for the final years of Mike in his cage. It also was before we were piping music in. A lot of traditions like those made the LSU for me. Now we feel like a NFL game and have lost our uniqueness

It’s amazing. Totally ridiculous that it stopped. All of these TD experts on Tiger psychology can blow me.

I was. Best mascot related event in the history of college football. I've missed it from the minute they quit doing it. I remember the "roaring Mike", a few Mike's ago that would roar almost on que and would scare the @$%&! out of the visiting team when he was parked right where they entered the stadium at the Southeast portal. Glory days!
