It’s really simple. Ben McDonald was the best for a career at LSU. Paul Skenes was the best for one year. LSU has had many star players in collegiate baseball.
I ‘ll accept what Skip Bertman said about Ben McDonald being his best player ever.

Ben is the greatest LSU pitcher to not win a CWS Championship.

Furniss is on the top 3 list
It’s Crew 1, Walker and Furniss in whatever 2-3 order you want
Sorry, but Alex Bregman and Mikie Mahtook aren’t close to this list

Wish I could upvote this 100 more times. It is spot on.
Crews was great, ant it is easy to dismiss Walker if you didn't watch him play. But if you were watching LSU baseball back then, Walker gets the edge.

Alvin Dark not very debatable. He played so long ago though. Maybe should say since the metal bat era.

Todd Walker was easily as good as Dylan Crews. I think Crews had a bit more power, but Walker was a hitting machine.

I'll always be partial to Walker. But after this recent, glorious run, Crews and Skenes are right there.

It’s Dylan Crews and there isn’t much of a debate anymore

Once skip is gone I hope the school tries to heal that wound.
It will be as it always has been…..100% on Belle. If he wants it to heal and to be welcomed back into the fold then it will be so…..if he shows no interest in that which is what he’s done over the decades nothing will change.

But he could absolutely crush a baseball
Nobody could hit as far as Joey. Nobody
And that was no juiced bat or body (in college)
Not saying he should be 1 on the list, just commenting on statement quoted

If I had one at bat to win a championship against a nasty pitcher I would take Walker over anyone who ever played at lsu. Every time. All day
