Not sure I get the Hanny hate. I always liked him as baseball color guy and he was certainly way better in that role than Thompson is; plus he has always done a good job with postgame. Not saying he is the sure fire answer or that there aren’t better options; but he wouldn’t be bad. The other 2 I get not wanting.

As for those recommending T-Bob - not no; but hell no. He is as obnoxious and polarizing as they come of a radio personality. He has his moments of being good; but he is a radio “personality” and not a broadcaster for a reason. Not to mention that I’m pretty sure Chris Blair would kill him before the first game even ended.

I don’t get the hate for T-Bob I think off the bench is a great radio show and he I think he does an excellent job with it.

That being said you’re right about him being more of a personality. He’s not really suited for a commentary job.

If you’re just pulling from guys currently on 104.5 then I think Hanni is the obvious choice. I know he got pissed because LSU has passed him over for the play by play job (and I’m glad they did) but I think he would be a great color guy

He’s a dentist in Colorado, why would he move his practice just to be a radio color guy? I don’t here much about him in connection to LSU, he doesn’t seem to care much.

Ok. My point is having someone like Lynn who was a QB and coach that can break down plays.

What happened to Jordy Hawthberg (sp)from back in the day? He used be the sideline guy.

This reminds me of hearing Deuce call the saints games. I think if we can find someone similar, that would be optimal. Sometimes Deuce speaks a little too much of the football lingo where the audience might not understand the precision he just described but former football players can understand it completely.

I don’t really give a damn if they ever played a down of college football. I just want someone with a good radio voice that gets excited when big plays happen.

Hester and T-Bob are in their 30s how much younger do you want someone to be?

If you don’t like Gordy, that’s fine, but this is a shitty line of reasoning. His college playing days don’t reflect his current occupation.

neither were QBs. Lynn’s knowledge was far superior to both of these.

I could hear T-Bob going off on a Thrones or Star Wars story when LSU is on Alabama's 2 yard line fixing to score. A three year old has a longer attention span.

Hanagriff’s only fault was being too honest for LSU’s liking

He is the perfect choice

Who did it when Moreau was out a few seasons ago? I don't even remember. Wanna say it was Risher but I could be way off.

This was really my main point, that he’s just not suited for the job or really any kind of broadcaster role.

I wouldn’t say that I hate him or really that I even dislike him as a radio show host/personality. But he is definitely pretty polarizing with people, there are not a lot of in between. I coincidentally happen to be more of the in between. When he first started on 104.5 I absolutely couldn’t tolerate him and considered strongly not listening to the show. He has gotten better; but his propensity to go off on long tangents, also pulling Jordy off track, and how loudly obnoxious he can be is just off putting at times. Plus he is still very bad at stepping all over people, which is not a trait you want in a color guy.

If you’re lucky enough to live to 115 you won’t be making jokes about people that aren’t close to 115 and especially what he has Accomplished in his lifetime

Gordy will talk over the play by play guy all game long the way he does on his interviews. No thanks.

The playing ability of a player to play the game has zero to do with their ability to be a good broadcaster. The best CFB broadcaster going right now is Herbstreit and he was not a great player.

It needs to be somebody with a little broadcast experience and some dynamism. Possibilities?

I like Hester in the role. Or Matt Flynn.

You mention someone needs broadcasting experience. Do you not think being the sideline reporter for live games is experience?

I love Hester and he would probably be great but your logic just doesn’t make sense.
