Florida...they are the best team in the nation! They have soooo many offensive threats. Tebow would not even have to show up, and they still beat BAMA...Book it.

The Bear may not have broken rules, but he won because he stretched them. He would have won maybe a couple of titles with today's scholarship rules. Dude would be just another coach.

For the record, I don't care who wins. I really don't. I just think it will be funny when Florida destroys them. They will. Florida is clearly the best team in the country. They have preserved Tebow and Harvin, they figured out to run the freshman RBs inside, the young def has matured and gotten better, and they have the best special teams in the country (by far). They are an unstoppable train right now. And, sorry Bama fans, you're not that good. An arse-whipping is coming and there is nothing you can do about it. Not quite an Ok-TT arse-whipping, but close.

"Stretched the rules?" Smart coaches innovate. Indeed, rules were changed to slow down Coach Bryant. Same is happening with Coach Saban.

"Dude just another coach?"

Yep, even the most delusional Bama fan would agree, Florida should be favored. A lost to the Gators will not bring a brick through Coach Saban's office window. This has been an unbelievable season. A win over Auburn makes it a success. The SEC Championship is a bonus. The BCS Championship is a super bonus. We know that Coach Saban has the Tide one to two years ahead of what most would have hoped.

Despite my love for the SEC West, I favor the Gators this year. They are the type of championship caliber team the SEC needs. WHEN they go to the national championship, they'll destroy whatever piss-ant team they play. And it keeps the crystal ball in the Southeast, where it belongs.

Florida. They have the chance to win it all. On the other hand, Bama has a lot of chance to choke in the title game. While Bama's defense is very good, their offense may not score enough.
I'd like to keep the tradition of SEC champions showing up in the title game.

As much as I hate Urban, I cannot bring myself to root for Alabama.

Florida. Best representation of the SEC. Look forward to Bama playing one of the non-bcs teams in the Sugar

Hey douche, perhaps you never heard of the Bear Bryant - Wally Butts scandal. Yes, did Butts win a settlement, Edwin won a few trials too, he was still a liar and thief, so was Bryant so was Butts. The evidence the Post had against them was not trial worthy, but Butts was forced to resign because the truth was evident to insiders.
quote:

Butts resigned as head coach after a disappointing six-and-four season in 1960. He remained UGA's athletic director, but his tenure was marred by scandal. In March 1963 the Saturday Evening Post published a story that accused Butts and Alabama head coach Paul "Bear" Bryant of fixing the 1962 Georgia-Alabama game, which the Crimson Tide won thirty-five to nothing. Butts and Bryant sued the Post for libel. In the ensuing trial Butts was awarded $3.06 million, at the time the largest amount ever awarded to a libel plaintiff. (The amount was later reduced to $460,000.) Though Butts won the trial, his reputation had been severely damaged, and he was forced to resign as athletic director.

Bear Bryant was scum.

As hard as a Tiger fan can cheer, Go Gators. They will destroy the Little 12.

Hey, andouille, you forgot to provide a link, as requested. Then, you call me a name.

Are you capable of adult discussion? If so, let's continue. Okay?

Yes, I am very familiar with the alledged fix scandal. BTW, I found your quoted information from above. You conveniently left out the following information which shows Coach Butts in a better light.

"Wally Butts (1905-1973)
James Wallace "Wally" Butts Jr. coached the University of Georgia (UGA) football team from 1939 to 1960,
Wally Butts leading the Bulldogs to four Southeastern Conference (SEC) titles, one undefeated season, and eight bowl games. His intense desire to win, knowledge of the game, and innovative techniques—including a devastating passing game—made him a coaching legend even before he retired. Though he was wracked by scandal late in his career, he is remembered as one of the great coaches in the history of UGA, and in all of college football."
LINK

Following is more information which is pertinent to this discussion. How about looking it over. In the long run, Georgia fans believed Coach Butts

Quote:
]"Butts left the University of Georgia in 1963, not long after a scandal erupted over a story in the Saturday Evening Post ...
Butts launched a new career in the insurance business. He set up his own company in Athens, Georgia, and eventually became a millionaire, largely on the strength of business from Georgia alumni.[/u]"

Fran Tarkenton - Related Biography: Coach Wally Butts LINK

Obviously, Coach Butts not only won his suit against the magazine. He won the business of many Georgia fans in the home town of the Bulldogs.

BTW, Coach Bryant, under oath in court, admitting to lying. Coach Bryant said, "I lie every time I say we can't win."

Give it up, andouille. Truth is on my side.

Florida. I have a cousin-in-law that's a big Gator fan and doesn't give me crap about my Tigers, so he roots for the Tigers and I root for the Gators when we aren't playing each other. Good times.
Plus I hate Bama.

I will hold my nose, close my eyes, try not to gag, and hope the Gaytors win. They will represent the SEC with a MUCH stronger presence in the BCSCG, and although I hate CUM with a passion, the combination of delusional Gumps and their short coach with the giant ego makes it a fairly easy choice.

FWIW, I think that UF will run amuck on that fast track in the Georgia Dome....
