Who are players we absolutely can’t afford to lose due to injury outside of Leavitt?

Losing your starting qb obviously is a loss that can derail your season so wanted to take naming him out of the equation since it’s the easy answer. However, we saw last year the massive impacts that the weeks and Moore injuries had on the team. Who are players from this year’s roster that we absolutely can’t afford to lose?

IMO 3 names come to mind :

Whit weeks (captain of the defense, our ability to stop the running qb fell off a cliff without him )

Jordan Seaton( prized LT, we face some elite edge rushers absolutely need him to stay healthy not only due to his immense talent but don’t think the guys behind him are quite ready to block sec edge rushers

Dj Pickett ( he heads into next season alredy a top 10 cb in the country imo. Theirs no replacement for losing 6’4 lockdown corner who has his movement skills. Esp since the guys behind him and woodland are mostly unproven . Facing guys like cam Coleman, deuce Alexander, ole miss’s explosive wideouts you need your no.1 cb healthy)

I would agree with your 3. You could probably throw another offensive lineman in there somewhere as well.

Princewill
Seaton
Pickett
Moore
Benefield

Those are the positions where gap between the starters and their backups are significant

I think LK will have our QB’s serviceable and capable of winning if SL were to get injured

Agree with Weeks and Seaton

Why is this even a question? Who wants to think about this shite in the preseason?

we obviously don’t want to lose Weeks, but we actually have some good LB depth this year. We actually have a lot of depth in front 7.

Seaton is someone we can’t afford to lose. Id argue B.Moore as well.
On defense, Id say Benefield or Pickett.

I think OP nailed it. Seaton, Whit, and Pickett. Vital to have those 3 healthy especially in SEC play.

Honestly, I think those 3 might be more valuable than Leavitt.

It wouldn't be ideal obviously, but I think the defense would survive without Benefield with Spears bumping over and someone else filling in at Star.

The offensive schemes and play calling would completely change without the mismatches Green provides.

Agree 100% I think we could still win some games with Longstreet, I hope it doesn't come to that though obviously.

Also Braelin Moore would be really bad to lose

Seaton is the answer but at least we don’t have a statue back there at QB this year

I agree with you but hes coming off injury. You want to keep him upright for the first part of the season as best we can. By the end of the season our offense should be clicking on all cylinders.

Ummm, because it's preseason and a slow time.

Plus, injuries are pretty much inevitable

Would not want to lose Leavitt to injury but we seem to have the best quarterback depth in the country.

We use to have rules about starting injury threads before the season.
