Under which administration? LSU Board of Supervisors? Not sure how process worked and who dragged this SOB to LSU to begin with?

FKA was Bobby Jindal's pal and he was the only one considered for that job.

100% Jindal. By 1 June 2012, Jindal had a Supermajority of the LSU BOS, 12 of 16 were his people (He had a majority by 2010). F. King was hired and started 1 July 2013.

I dunno. He screwed up at NASA and was overzealous in cracking down on the student section.

That said, at least he didn't run the academics into the ground.

They probably didn’t even interview him before hiring him.

100% Bobby Jindal. The LSU BOS, his supermajority controlled board did not do a search per se. He was hired and never interviewed or was questioned by LSU Faculty. The LSU Faculty condemned the Process. Hank Danos, was the guy who said publicly he was the was the sole finalist. I don't think anyone ever new who else was in the candidate pool.

Alexander's rise in Academic Administration had Red Flags all over it. His first President Job was at Murray State in Kentucky, he followed his Father, who with the Murray State Board (although his Father was not on the Board per se), made the decision to hire him.

President Lombardi, the guy Jindal Fired, and He fired Him by telling the LSU BOS to fire him, was someone who had excellent academic credentials, having taught History at Indiana-Bloomington and earning tenure and then becoming Dean, etc at Indiana's Arts and History College (a major Big 10 Research 1 University).

He would become President at the University of Florida-Gainesville, he hired Jeremy Foley as AD who of course hired both Urban Meyer and Billy Donovan at UF, both winning National titles.

So it seems to me when you have a guy like Lombardi, who criticized Jindal on many occasions, vs. a guy like Alexander who was weak and would do anything to placate Bobby to keep his Job, you see why Jindal's LSU BOS hired the guy.

It does matter because the same clowns could hire another charlatan.

The position has always been sketchy. LINK

However, I thought Wharton did a decent job overall.

This encapsulates what Bobby Jindal meant to the state of Louisiana and its people. He was a bad governor and F. King a bad university president.

JBE'S BOS appointees didn't have the majority makeup of the BOS until June 2018. That's when Alleva and F King were then given the Boot later on.

That sounds like JBE did something good. Not sure you're allowed to say that here...

Alexander arrived on the Baton Rouge campus just two days after LSU’s Faculty Senate unanimously passed a symbolic vote of “no confidence” in LSU’s Board of Supervisors, in part over their selection of Alexander to be the next system president.

As usual the first impression is right.

You are correct in your view, in my opinion.JBE definitely launched F. King and was willing to work with major Republicans like Richard Lipsey, who is a large Gun Distributor and 2nd Amendment guy. Lipsey who was a former LA Board of Regents guy, appointed by Bobby Jindal, was never a fan of F King Alexander and publicly stated what many LSU Academics felt, F. King never had the credentials to be President of a R1 University that had played Athletically in the SEC.

Lipsey endorsing JBE was strategic politics and those 2 were the ones who in my opinion were the muscle to Launch F King. JBE by that time had control of the board and Lipsey being a Jindal appointee himself indicated that it was not a political job to make Bobby Look bad for his people hiring F. King (which they 100% did).
