STFU. You don't even pay attention to know Utah State QB is a top 2 NFL QB getting drafted.

Our fans cry when CBS wants us to play a 2:30 game. The crying about everything is getting old. We are just like the boy who cried wolf...cry so much nobody really listens.

LSU fans don't like having home games with daytime starts. That's nothing new. But all have come to accept, even if they don't love the idea, that if LSU is selected to play the premiere SEC game on CBS then it will start at 2:30. That's fine.

But just like every other school has their own traditions they want honored, LSU's long tradition is playing at night. This is not some new thing like the awarding of the 18 jersey. LSU and night games are synonymous nationally. Now, because of the expansion of TV broadcasting that tradition has been eroded. Certainly, while LSU fans may not love the idea, most accepted that with SEC game comes TV network decisions. That said, many assumed (and there was even a quasi-agreement with the former commissioner to this effect) that at least the non-conf. home games (which are usually rent-a-win type of opponents) would have evening start times to facilitate LSU's desire to preserve one of its long time traditions (in a league that touts tradition as vitally important).

Now, ONE WEEK after Alabama complains about playing "too many" OOC day games, LSU "suddenly" gets a OOC day game for the 1st time in over a decade. You don't find that timing odd?

LSU's (and the other schools) players and fans only get to travel to most cross-division opponents' home once every 10+ years. The ONLY reason is because the SEC has to maintain, at all costs, the Bama/Tenn. "rivalry" as if this is the bedrock rivalry of all of college football. Yet, one gripe from the Bama AD is immediately enough to cause the league to dismiss one of its other school's longtime and important traditions?

Give me a break!

It's not unreasonable to complain about this instance because it's not a showcase game for TV, it's completely unprecedented and thousands of people plan their fall Saturdays around tailgating for LSU home games. That has been disrupted now.

and it's happened once in the last 10 yrs?

Our fans leave early anyway...we don't exactly make a great argument for night games when stadium is half full mid 3rd qtr. This is Utah St. if it was ole miss or miss state the crying would be more justified

bama does play most of their non conference games at 11 am...they can't bitch about it? things change and maybe they don't want to play at 11am...we aren't the only team that tells the sec our preferences. I doubt they make everyone hapy. It's just we cry way too much as a fanbase.

The positive about 11am for Utah St. is that is 10am for their players and our players get a little more time to recover for florida

Let me know when Bama/Tennessee gets canceled once every 10 years.

This has nothing to do with this situation. The reason people want the game at night has nothing to do with the game itself.

Actually, no it wouldn't. It would be acceptable to put a game with some sort of appeal into a TV slot that would give the game its best chance of ratings. The amount of people that care about watching LSU vs Utah St on TV is miniscule.

That's because Alleva actually did something right (believe it or not) and got the league to agree to put our games at night whenever possible after we played all of our conference games during the day in 2011. This must not have been in the binder he left for Woodward.

that was relatively recently he weas complaining.

Its like people forget he was here 10 years.

We had a lot of day games, but not a lot of 11 oclock game.s

this argument is coming from a fanbase that is used to having an elite defense, while I think once we get healthy and correct some tackling errors we'll be fine, this whole season is uncharted territory for us. so..shut up.

yes, we are pissed about this. we tailgate. we get drunk all day and enjoy the game at night or at least afternoon. 11 am kickoffs are a fly in the face of our night game tradition and when you look at the night games chosen (Georgia vs Tennessee and Vandy vs Ole Piss), it's laughable that they would make us kickoff before NOON

that's the thing, this isn't a random cupcake. Utah State hangs with a lot of schools and damn near beats most of them, and can make for an upset. so this isn't UL-Lafayette we're talking about. ALSO...no body gonna mention the fact about LSU having to play 2 straight 11 am games after Bama and Daddy Saban complained that other schools don't play early games as much as Bama does...

Saban complains and the league corrects so he doesn't have to complain again. It is the conference we live in. Woody was hired to fix shite like this, Alleva gave in. Woody will speak up.

wtf does this have to do with us playing one 11am home game in 10 years? are you really comparing a huge rivalry game to an OOC game against Utah St.?

you are arguing that it wouldn't be more justified to bitch about LSU playing Ark or Ole Miss at 11am? I bet the SEC network would rather have 2 sec schools on in primetime to gain more viewers throughout the SEC than to have LSU vs Utah St.

what part of this says every game?

I think this is really not an issue. Auburn-Florida have the CBS 2:30 game. Ole Miss-Vandy is a Conference game, so it gets priority for the SEC network over LSU-Utah State. UGA-TENN is on ESPN, gain SEC conference Game and UGA is a top 5 ranked team. So the only other game is Mizzou-Troy. So from a TV marketing perspective, which game do you want to stand alone to get eyes on the TV. LSU-Utah State makes sense. Mizzou-Troy is the SEC Network game in the SEC Network slot next to Auburn-Florida. The only people watching that game are Mizzou fans and Alabama people whose kids play for Troy. Everybody else in Alabama is watching UF-Auburn.

That is my take on it.
