that the Tigers and Tiger fans didn't want to play the Tide again. At a local watering hole with about 10 bama diehards, there was no question that they think that the Tigers don't want to play this game again.

No use in going to all the excuses and reasons they use it all came down to them reading the Tiger message boards, media and fans that we already know the outcome of the NC game.

I understand pulling for your team and don't have any problem with them giving me a hard time. All in good fun but they really believe it's going to be a rout this time because Saban and Smart won't make the same mistakes as last game.

Will be meeting them at the game so it's gonna be interesting!

I think most people would rather play someone different just because playing different teams is more exciting than playing a team you play every year regardless.

But Bama fans think that makes LSU fans scared for some reason.

Good thing Saban isn't playing in the game!

I love Sabans image.
Saban wins it is because he is the smartest guy on the field.
Saban loses it is because he dumb arse players didn't execute his master plan.

If every play was executed to perfection, Bama wouldn't need to kick field goals...oh shite..never mind.

We've embraced it now but the reasoning is simple. Bama is the next best team in the country, which we've already beaten at their place. Why would we want to play them again?

Its more common sense than fear. Now that the game is set, noone is whining, bring them on.

I live in AL. Bama fans are beyond delusional, primarily b/c they've never ventured outside the state. It hasn't even occurred to them that maybe LSU didn't play their best game either.

oh. They beat themselves, remember? Plus they have Saban.

I don't know who will win the rematch, but I for one don't want to play them again. It is utterly unfair. Why did we even play them in the regular season.

You can bet your life that Saban and Smart won't make the same mistakes twice. But it is also a pretty safe bet that Les will have a few tricks up his sleeve. Tricks he didn't have to use the first time.

Judging by the LSU players' reactions on the BCS selection show... the majority opinion seemed to be that they want a rematch. And that's all I'm worried about.

Of course we wanted to play OSU. We'd kill them like we killed Arkansas and Georgia. Bama will be a much tougher game, and why should we want them to be rewarded for losing to us? The Tigers went out and did the heavy lifting in the SECCG while the Bama players sat on their couches and ate popcorn. But that doesn't mean the team is afraid of playing them again. I trust Miles to prepare his team as well or better than $aban. We'll be ready for that game; you can book it.

I live in birmingham and I am hearing alot of it on the Paul Finebaum show and what is funny, LSU fans aren't calling in saying anything. So I think bama fans are the one scared because they know it will be a close game and not sure how it will turn out. Most people run there mouths when they are scared, and trying to make themselves feel better.

You were right the first time.

Why would we want to play a team we already beat - unless we have to to win a championship.

That was then, this is now. Now it's for a championship so we DO want to play them.

I'm not afraid to admit that Alabama probably has a better shot at beating LSU than anyone else, and I would hate to see them lose the BCSNCG after such a magical season.

But this team and these coaches aren't afraid to play anyone. You could even argue that it's an advantage to be playing Alabama because there is absolutely no chance of a let down. I have no doubt that the team KNOWS they can beat them, and in the end that's all that really matters.

Just one of the many things they apparently need to tell themselves to help them sleep at night.

See, also, they "beat themselves" and LSU's not really a rival, among others.

Wierd...seems like they were pretty convinced Bama would win on Nov. 5th for a hand full of reasons.

This and this.

If Alabama wins do we get a third game in Baton Rouge or do they just get to raise the trophy for going 12-1 to our 13-1 with one win against the other? I'm all for a rematch as long as it is best 2 out of 3 and the third game is in Baton Rouge.

I thought the majority opinion there was that they're still undefeated.

This

Don't understand why we have to beat them twice to be champs and they only have to beat us once. Doesn't make sense but I am convinced these guys will not lose this season.

Look at it this way eventhough most people felt bad abt what happened to Ok St. Bama is generally considered 2nd best team so to validate the Tigers
as 1 of greatest of all time they have 2 kick some gump arse again. GEAUX TIGERS

If it was the other way around, they would be thinking the same thing. No one wants to have to beat someone twice in a year---that's a no brainer.

Gumps will be gumps.

I was driving to work yesterday and listening to a local sports radio station here in the Charlotte area. Some idiot identified himself as an LSU fan and kept going on about how scared he was to have to play the Gumps again and how he thought they the Gumps would win this time around. I was turning purple screaming at my radio for him to please STFU.

Hey, Idiot - if you read these boards and recognize yourself, do me a favor and don't speak for me and for God's sake, please don't identify yourself as a Tiger fan. You aren't.
