Nicely put. I puked crow all over the damned place, myself. It tasted worse coming back up than it did going down.

Once it was made I supported it. I wanted someone that was an expert on one side but I believed O could hire competent coordinators and I knew as long as we had aranda we had a shot.

Well I was wrong on the first one.

Checked OP's history (pretty sad). He was a Herman fan who had a huge melt after Orgeron got the job in 2016. Started rooting for Texas.

Hey OP, how did that work out for you?

He was 32-18 at Texas wining 4 bowl games and having 1 10 win season. He was fired after going 7-3 in 2020. His worst year was 17 where he went 7-6.

He never reached the heights that O did, but he also never has come close to these two season lows.

I did not like the hire, I thought Ed O was a downgrade from Les Miles. I remember saying it could be much worse than Les Miles win/loss record. Then I did not like how LSU settled on Ed O.

Then 2017 happened and I was ready to look for a new coach.

Then 2018 happened and I was like will 10-3 not so bad.

Then 2019 happened and I was like well you cannot argue with results. Maybe I was wrong.

Then 2020 happened and I was like well, its a very weird year with COVID and opt outs. Well maybe that blind hog did fine an acorn, maybe I was right, but he will right the ship.

Then 2021 happened and is happening and I, well you cannot argue with results. I was right all along! Time to geaux Eaux.

Not that I wanted him, but I wasn't mad that he got the job. I don't look into other coaches, because my opinion will not matter to an AD, so why try to get my hopes up.

O is a south Louisiana man, played for LSU briefly, and sure as shite was raised on LSU football. It was just a cool thing to see a native get the job. Sure it's not turning out too great, but we have the greatest season on record, a National title, a SEC title, and a Heisman in 1 year. Sure these past 2 seasons suck, but at the end of the day, this is a speed bump.

Put me on the list...when we weren't getting Jimbo or Herman, I was fine giving O a chance...and guess what? He gave us the best season ever...

I always support whoever we hire. It was nice being national champions again. You seem miserable

I was willing to give him a shot. He has always been an elite recruiter and he did well as an interim head coach. He had good assistant coaches and seemed eager to work hard to stabilize the program.

After 2019 the assistant coaches have gone down and Orgeron doesn’t seem nearly as hungry. He also doesn’t seem to have the ability to right the ship.

It’s time for a change.

you are an idiot, if Orgeron never happened then 2109 may have never happened. Does he deserve to be let go at this point, yes.

I was ok with O, so what? Herman was not coming here, he wanted Texas. Jimbo should have been hired the year before, but someone at LSU got cold feet and ruined the party. Jimbo may have had some reluctance after that and besides Aggie opened up Fort Knox. That left O. Yeah, he was crap at Ole Miss, but he did well during his short time at USC. Easy to forget a lot of people wanted him to get the permanent job at USC. We got a championship in 2019, best team ever. I don't remember anyone unhappy with O at that time and that title justified his hiring!
Easy to critize him now, but anyone that would trade away that championship for the last two seasons is FOS!
I will not shy away from the fact I was happy with the O hire and those that did should not be bullied either. O will be gone soon enough, he lost his mojo, but let's not forget the program was stale under Miles, O turned up the heat but then let the pilot go out...it happens in coaching.

Nobody wanted coach O from what I remember. Bit he became the head coach so most everyone suppoorted him. He did well until he lost the team bc of voices like Ryan Clark and the blm shite in 2020 spring. He has allowed team to fall apart. I was rooting for him until the 2nd loss this year. He has not made the improvements 9r hires he promised and his pay does not equal what is happening on the field.he has lost me and most of team from the looks of things from the outside

I was ok with it given the combination of circumstances. Ideally the change would have occurred a year before, which surely would have resulted in a different HC.

Im ready to move on from O but don’t dislike him, and grateful for the 2019 season he presided over

I supported the hire and still support him. He's the coach and until he's not-I stand behind him just as I do the players. Rough patches happen...

Me too! Herman was the obvious choice at the time. I think with his relationship with Burrow, that would have been a no brainer. I think he would have done very well at LSU but he had to have Texas... I bet he regrets that now.
