The Les Miles 4th & 1/game-opening toss dive, or the current no huddle on 3rd & 1 zone handoff to the running back?

Anytime we go cheetah/super hurry up on a 1 yard to go play, it’s a dive.

Every

Time

I hope we stop that. Or mix it up. I don’t remember us doing it much against Vandy. Maybe we’re getting over it.

I'm hoping we start to mix it up as the offense gets more comfortable and possibly a WR screen or a skinny post to Gilbert off the play action.

3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 line up in the fricking power I with davis or curry and torry carter as the fullback . That delay crap does nothing on short yardage except give the defense time to get to the RB. Steve Ensminger you still know how to run this so run it.

hell, a single back toss dive behind Ingram might be pretty sweet at this point.

Correct me if I'm wrong here. Doesn't the delay setup for an RPO later in the year when all of the opposing coaches read the rant and figure out our 3rd & 1 play?

Zone read that Brennan never keeps, regardless of read on emol.
FYI LSU rarely ever ran dive off the toss, it was predominantly toss power.

To be fair, it works a lot of the time. You catch the defense with the wrong personnel on the field going from a pass play to a goal line situation.

Thats not a zone read, it’s an RPO

THIS! Probably my biggest quip with the offense so far this season.

Why do we run on third and short out of the shotgun formation. I swear that Ms. St blew it up five times and Vandy 2 or 3.

Why can't we just throw a fullback and two TEs and just go direct and not beat around the bush?

It is okay to use multiple formations. Our o-line quality should allow for us to use a fullback and TDP's mass to get these third and shorts easily. Especially against Vandy and Ms. St. Hope that changes going forward.

The answer is, both. I don’t mind the call if you also incorporate other options so the defense isn’t keyed in and sells out to the run.
