Curious if Cannon was on this list 80s and 90s and repaired it last 20 years? I became a fan in 1997, so I don’t know sentiment before?

Good question JW77. I would say no. When the Cannon situation happened, he fully cooperated and took his punishment like a man. It had nothing to do with LSU other than our biggest legend was convicted of a federal crime. LSU fans were shocked, disappointed and yes, some were angry, but he paid his debt willingly and completely. Then, he nailed the remainder of his life and re-embraced LSU.
At least this his how I saw (see) it. Others may remember it differently.

I try not to get too riled up. I am capable of realizing that Daniels is being an idiot right now while also acknowledging how fun he was to watch in P&G, and that he repped us positively. Honestly, I don’t see the reason to hate him now. He’s damaging himself, and no sane person agrees with his camp’s stance. Dude is gonna learn a tough lesson, and would be wise to try to repair the bridge ASAP.
I always loved Belle, but I like Cleveland, so…
I also don’t get the Simmons hate. At the end of the day, he was overrated and in it for himself, as is the case for many athletes. It’s not like he has negatively impacted LSU hoops.
