Just curious and SIAP somewhere, but what happened to Gio? Could he play in the outfield tomorrow/at DH?

Guy can at least give us competitive at bats and play left or right field competently.

Got passed by multiple freshmen. He’s not any kind of answer.

Not on the postseason roster. He likely transfers this offseason.

He's a much better player than Stevenson is right now. I think Stevenson will be better in the end, but he's pretty bad right now.

I was wondering why they didn’t use him to pinch run for Morgan last night when they put Bianco in to pinch run it all worked out though

He’s our second best outfielder.

He hadn’t been competitive at the plate lately.

He hasn't been hitting at all. Great defender though.

Yep.
But he had had every opportunity and had failed at the dish.

We have a lot of either or players and not many good hit/ good field players.

Gio was a career .292 hitter coming into '22 and he has wheels.

Not making an anti-Gio statement but it's a big roster disappointment whatever has happened to him.

Honestly, I don't know how anyone on the coaching staff can believe that he has been passed by Stevenson. And I'm not trying to bash. I'm just speaking realistically. Gio is an inconsistent hitter, and always has been. But we know he is capable of getting hot. Stevenson, aside from a walk here and there, just doesn't look ready, to me.

And then there is the defense of those two. Gio is a proven defender, and Stevenson looks like he has trouble tracking anything hit his way right now. So if Dugas can't go, why Stevenson over Gio? Why Stevenson over Bianco, even? At least Bianco plays good defense, and is capable of hitting the ball out.

Well he can't very well be, if he's not on the postseason roster. But I want to know what Stevenson brings, at this present time, that is better than Gio. It's not about an "answer". Would you say Stevenson has been the answer, thus far? Would this game have been different if he had caught those two fly balls that he should have had? Because Gio makes those catches. He has made much more difficult catches than that.

I just don't understand why we're throwing someone under the bus in favor of someone who is doing less.
