Hard to believe that it has been 25 years!
I was sitting 10 rows up from the Tigers dugout with 6 friends. “Unbelievable” is the only word to come close to describing the experience. I wound up 2 rows behind my seat after the pandemonium somewhat subsided & don’t know how I got there. Very special for me as that was the only CWS I attended.
A little spooky that last nights championship game (which ended today) had the same 9-8 score. Great catch by a previous poster who pointed that out.

Sitting on the couch with my 10-month-old daughter (no pics then or now) watching. When it happened, I yelled so loud she screamed in fear for 5 minutes. Sorry, little girl.

Coincidentally, I did the exact same thing to my one-year-old son in 2000 when Cresse had his game-winning hit.

I was at my wedding reception to first wife. New brother in law was a sports writer and stayed in contact with the news room so they could announce updates at the reception. It was hard to plan around anything back then when access to information that far in advance was non existent. In hindsight, canceling the wedding for a baseball game would have been a smart move

At that time, I was working at FootAction at Cortana Mall. That place was so packed that you couldn't even get in. This was back when FootAction played sports 24/7. So all eyes were glued to the TVs. The place just erupted when Morris jacked it out!! My best day working for that company!

I was there, about 25 rows up from 3rd base. Last minute decision to get on a plane, and take my chances finding a ticket, once I got there.

According to my aunt, who has since passed, my one month old self was in her arms as she jumped up and down and yelled a few enthusiastic choice words. From that moment on, I bled purple and gold.

Port Arthur, Texas.
Daughter was on a 14 U fast pitch softball tournament team and one of the parents had a TV in his Ford Econoline van.
Also recall winning my first and only "split the pot" that afternoon. Wonderful memory.

Fishing the Rummel Alumni rodeo. Watched it at Blackie Campo’s with about 50 smelly guys huddled around a 32” tube TV…
