I know this is just one draft board BUT
Clapp at #3 and Weathersby at #17

It's looking more like Clapp should declare rather than Weathersby but I feel it will be the other way around.

They’re not valued the same at all. Think about how many centers are taken in the first 3 rounds and then think about tackles. Frankly they both should come back but I understand if Toby leaves.

Y’all do remember he almost drove to Houston to try and save members of his family right? I would blame him one bit.

Draft stock wise- they both should stay.

I understand but Other draft boards have about 10-12 other OT above Weathersby but you're right. I do understand if he declares

If this information is accurate, what round, if at all, does he likely go?

To be honest other boards I've seen, Weathersby goes 6-7 if he declares this year. A couple of 2019 draft boards have him much higher. I think this years OT class is deep.

But then again I think back to Dupree who was mocked to go 2-3 and we see how that turned out.

I'd bet Weathersby will be drafted and/or signed as a guard prospect. He's a better run blocker than pass protector.

ETA: Clapp can also play Guard or center

I've got a connection over at Westfield and Weathersby definitely wants to declare (mostly family circumstances). I hope he uses the rest of this season to put some good film together and stays on the field.

I think Clapp stays until his eligibilty is up. His family does not need the money all that badly.

I can only speak about Weathersby and he seems to be in a unique situation.

He's looking at the difference between millions and millions of dollars if he declares early rather than staying another year

Declaring too early could cost yourself way over 10 million dollars.

Tender, as soon as the rookie salary cap was implemented, it is now a matter of starting the clock to get to your second contract. That will be where the money is for someone like weathersby.

I hope your correct about clapp staying. I've been assuming he's gone. He has decent draft position now. An injury would do him in.

Weathersby played his best game as a Tiger Saturday.

If Clapp’s final draft grade is high enough, he gone.

Most don't make it to their second contract.

And there is a difference between a 5 million dollar contract in the 2-3 rounds vs 2.5 million in 6-7 rounds. The signing bonus is 400-500k vs 60-80k.
