Ben Simmons WISHES he had the ethic, heart and tenacity Hornsby did.

FYI - Keith and Ben were roommates and good friends at LSU. Following Simmons' playoff exit and recent social media, public berating, Keith called Ben to offer his support advising to keep his head up.

Personally, I think Simmons needs to see a sports psychologist and spend 10,000 hours in the gym fixing his game. Dude is broken mentally as his performance (or lack thereof) during the playoffs proved it.

that put Simmons in an even worse light. He spent most every waking hour next to someone that should've inspired better basketball in him.

KH was a guest on 103.7 The Game last week (Friday 7/2 ??) and Interviewed by Coach Danny Broussard. I listened to the live interview and pretty much typed everything Keith shared with the listening audience. Solid informative interview as it may be available on podcast.

I don’t know Keith personally, but have seen his dad play live with the Grateful Dead a dozen or so times

I sat next to him and a couple football players at the premier of one of the avenger movies. Wanted to talk to him, but had a strong edible before hand and was too scared. One of the football players he was with is actually pretty big on YouTube now

You would think music would be in his veins, but no doubting he was an excellent BB player for the Tigers!
I could sure enjoy playing in France for a few years...nice gig!

I was just wondering what happened with him the other day when "That's Just the Way it Is" came on Sirius radio.

For a frustrating as he could be at long stretches during the game, Hawthorne was rarely short on raw emotion. Blair is much better calling the game, but lacks the genuine emotion that is great to hear in big moments.

I remember that game quite well.

LSU was thought to be in the NCAAT, but wasn't quite a "lock". They were coming off an unexpected blowout loss to Tennessee at home after winning 4 of their last 5. That was a good Arkansas team who had only lost once at home that season (18 game to that point). Winning that game removed any doubt that LSU would be in the NCAAT for the first time in 6 years.

LSU was forced to play the game WITHOUT Jordan Mickey (who was injured). Darcy Malone started and contributed almost nothing. That made the win more unlikely considering LSU essentially had to go 4 on 5 vs. Ark. That was maybe Jarell Martin's best game as a Tiger. He played all 40 minutes to make up for Mickey's absence, scored 27 points (one off a career high) and had a huge block at the end to keep the game tied...making up for terrible defense by Malone.

Jalyn Patterson had a terrific game and had a knack for hitting clutch 3's. In fact, he hit one to tie the game in the last 2:00. I thought that was who they might go to at the end. It appears Patterson did too because he was the only guy who had no reaction whatsoever when Hornsby's shot went through. He was standing in the opposite corner baseline, open, and almost looked pissed off when the shot went through while the rest of the team/bench was exuberant.

Josh Gray, as he was want to do, tried to do his best to screw up a great end of game chance by wasting too much time looking for his OWN shot rather than getting the best shot. Make no mistake, Gray fully intended on taking the last shot. He just waited FAR to long to make his move and got cutoff on his planned drive. It was out of necessity (and probably frustration) that he found Hornsby in the corner
