Florida governor Ron DeSantis is out there opposing a CFB shutdown this morning. Where is John Bel Edwards?

A cancellation of the season should require a public vote and any AD voting in favor should be fired. If that doesn't happen, the fans and boosters should make them suffer financially.

Jbe is off beating off to shutting down football. Anyone that thinks JBE is a real LSU fan is a clown.

Well then he will be first to find out how devastating this will be to the BR economy.

He better think twice.

That's exactly right! There will be many season ticket holders who are getting up in age and travel a long way to come to Baton Rouge who will decide not to come anymore.

I'm 57, live in Sugar Land, Texas, and I've been coming to at least 5 home games (plus some road games) since I graduated, plus 5 weekends for softball. That 4 1/2 drive is getting harder to make as I get older and LSU makes the parking and traffic harder on campus. I will continue to try to make the trips, but there will be others who won't.

Hotel, food, gas, gambling, etc are expenditures that would be missed by Baton Rouge.

DeSantis has proven to be a shitty leader. He reopened too soon which contributed to Florida becoming a hot spot. Things have improved somewhat since the major retailers mandated masks; after bars were shut down and restaurants were required to limit seating.
Thankfully, the collective wisdom of people much smarter than DeSantis will make the call about college sports.
It's a stupid narrative to say that people want Americans to suffer from the pandemic. Everyone will be thrilled when live can return to normalcy.
We've seen what happens when leaders make stupid decisions and ignore the advice of scientists and the medical community.

AD’s aren’t making these decisions. University presidents will.

And yet, Florida is WELL behind other states such as NJ, NY, MA, LA, MI, IL, PA, etc in the death rate. Juxtapose that with FL having the 2nd oldest population of any state in the US besides Maine. Nearly 21% of Florida's population is 65+ (aka the demographic most at risk). I'd say Florida has done a pretty good job.

If it were solely up to the advice of scientist and the medical community, then NO ONE would be allowed to leave their homes, ever. That is the most effective way of reducing "risk". Unfortunately, we live in this pesky thing called reality where people have to work to earn a living and human beings prefer the option of social interaction in order to live enjoyable lives. I know this sound strange, but there used to be a time human beings could make their own daily risk assessments. Now, evidently, it is up to governors/mayors to make such decisions for us. But if you want to continue to live life in abject fear of life. By all means

JBE may not care about LSU football but he cares about the money it generates. And, no, I did not vote for him either time.

The ones with titles of leadership are in their basements waiting for a real leader to step up.

I'm sure you are one of these guys that think's Cuomo did a great job. Meanwhile New York has 32,774 deaths and Florida has 8,276 deaths and Florida has 3 million more people than New York.
