I realize that.

Rickdaddy, i ask you: please just watch the games and not rely on statistic sites in which you are too lazy to scroll all the way down to his rushing numbers.

right cause we all know lsu struggles with running qbs

Im more worried about him cutting thru a green defense on the ground. They have never played against a guy like this in an offense like this just yet.

the exact same can be said of him facing our defense.

LaTech gave away soooo many points off turnover it was insane. LaTech was in the MSU plenty of times but did not do a dang thing except turn the ball over.

MSU looks so improved on D - whatever change they made, it looks good. That said, LaTech found some running room at times - if Tech can do that, LSU should be able to pound it.

MSU's secondary and receivers are the weak links....If LSU can find a way to ger the ball to receivers in the open field...game over.

Special team sucked for MSU and LaTech - worst collegiate special teams I have ever seen.

We barely beat em last year and they return their qb who has more experience for one. They have a legit D.C. Now and signed 8 juco players. That gives them college developed players instead of kids just out of HS filling those holes.

But we beat them and are a far superior team than that team was

We have a superior OC as well

They have played no one just as us

LA tech was up on them until the talent gap and mistakes happened

We should be fine.. unless their d is Alabama or UF worthy

Nick Mullens was a better qb than Fitzgerald

Manziel and Lamar Jackson as well if we are factoring in the running style..

I really don't get the love. Completely shut him down last season and in year two of Aranda with more talent. I really hope Rashard Lawrence plays in this game as well as Key.

Now Shea Patterson is a guy who is very legit.. Fitz overall stats considering who he has played are not even insane. He has what, 5 passing tds? If he had 5 in one game I might be impressed.. I see he has a few rushing so that factors, but I certainly don't see us giving up 100 yards rushing to him.

State is a good football team. I'm not sure why so many lsu fans are insistent on thinking we will roll over on them. Then again...this is the rant I think you will be in for a rude awaking on Saturday when the game is very close. I hope the tigers win but unless our O line steps up, we are in for a long day

We aren't but that is very possible. We are simply responding to the delusion of the state fans on this board. We've beaten them 1,999 of the last 2000 we have played them. What do you expect. Sorry we aren't shaking in our in boots in fear of their team. They shake cowbells for fricks sake. It's ridiculous. They simply aren't as good. You do realize it will be an upset if they win right. Lol at all the "Fitzgerald will be the best player on the field" he isn't even the best player on their team. Simmons is.

I'm not dick riding state. I'm just saying their QB is damn good and at 6'5" 240 will present problems if he finds his way into the 2nd level against some of our physically under developed Freshmen.
No, you said he'd be the best player on the field.

Where are MSU fans getting this confidence?

Could it be:
a) LSU lost a lot of talent to the NFL
b) LSU has won the last 3 games by a total of 8 points
c) They have one of the better QB's in the SEC
d) Law of averages says they are bound to luck up sometime

but I say not this year

Garbage time ? They had a chance to drive down for the win or tie.. Arden came upHuge. Nick F is a beast running and improved throwing. Ya we stopped him and ya we stopped Louisville but we lost half of our production. And I promise u state is much better this year. We will find out about our team for sure. I'm usually not worried at all but this year I am for some reason. I think they are much better than many think. And I'm
Not sure about us yet.

Nick Fitzgerald happened. Ya miles nutted up like usual but still our D. Still our D.C. And we're younger this season and they have a real D.C. Now. Solid dline good rb. We need our front 7 to dominate the game. That's the key. Pun intended

Well state did lose to BYU last season so I'd imagine they have improved from that

But has LSU not massively improved as well? Aside from fl and Alabama we have flat out dominated since Miles left

If either play up to their potential then it's either Key or Guice. No idea with Key being out first two games on what to expect.

That's pretty easy.

They did two years ago.. even with their best shot they still can't beat LSU..

LSU losing some players to the draft has absolutely no barring on their confidence.. LSU has reloaded impressively. Their confidence stems from simply being 2-0 as many fans are still expecting good things.. they beat some inferior teams.. they expect a better d bc they switched D.C. So that is exciting.. but they've yet to play SEC talent.. so it's to be been seen..

Look Lester Earl this same QB put up similar numbers last year against these same teams he's played thus far. What exactly did he do against LSUs defense last year, or against any defense with a pulse last year? He doesn't have very good WRs to throw to this year either. He's likely not going to put up a ton of yards against an Aranda coached D and we don't have to play a bunch of freshman, we do have veterans who can play this game on D to start the game, build us some momentum, then once they show the young pups what is expected, sub those guys in. They are a good team that will come out and play hard, but so is LSU.
