Good enough for one of the best teams in the NFL to keep promoting him at a rapid pace but not good enough to replace BK huh? He has to be really good in meeting rooms to keep moving up the way he has. Yall have to get out of this mindset of the "safe" hire with a proven high floor. That's how we got BK. Oregon Ohio State and UGA took a chance on a coordinator and look where they are now. We have a GM to handle the off the field shite

Yes I do not think LSU has the money to pay 3/4 of a million dollars each month.

In addition to what they will pay a new coach, obviously, since they are paying him more than that now.

Lanning or Kiffin are the only two that realistically make sense for me.

I don't think Kelly's getting fired, nor am I advocating for it just yet either. I wasn't a fan of his hiring at all, but not convinced that firing him is the best solution at this moment in time.

Hypothetically speaking, I’d want a younger coach who isn’t currently at a major top 10 job. I say that just bc those guys usually aren’t attainable.
Kiffin would need to be the #1 make him say no guy.
After that do your due diligence on guys like dillingham, key, summaral, south Florida coach, etc.
I believe they’re plenty of good candidates.

Urban Meyer has not coached since NIL started. He would be lost, and I don’t think his heart is in it anymore. Kiffin has shown a strong u derstandi g of the new era, and I wouldn’t be disappointed Ted with that choice. However, I would rather see us aim at a young coach at a mid major who we could sign to a shorter contract.

You're never getting Kirby or Ryan Day. The ignorance wow. We do not want Kalen DeBoer. I am glad he is at Bama. Dan Lanning is a promising Coach and I actually like him but he is in a pretty good spot. I actually think he should stay where hes at.

Curt Cignetti* is 64. Should not go after him.

There are some really good Coaches but the current landscape of College Football makes it harder for a Coach to be successful here. What made being successful at LSU so appealing was the recruiting base. But with how kids don't stay a programs and develop recruiting is not the most important thing. Until that changes LSU will be behind other programs. Kiffin loves this era and can find that success anywhere. Going to Florida might be one hell of a move.

Indiana just paid Cignetti $11.5m per year guaranteed over 8 years. You think the others won’t pony up? Half the posters here want a cheap coach and half say throw money. Just stop a bag…

Just no more 90% guaranteed, long-term, basically incentive-less contracts for older coaches to come here and retire on the job, please.
